The role of Assistant General Manager at Applegreen is a key leadership position responsible for supporting the General Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of day-to-day business activities at the travel plazas. This position offers an excellent opportunity for entry-level managers to develop critical management skills, exercise judgment, and demonstrate discretion in handling various operational challenges. As an Assistant General Manager, you will be entrusted with delivering performance feedback, setting goals, fostering teamwork, and clearly communicating business objectives to your team. Your role will involve supervising non-management associates, assigning work tasks, coaching, and developing shift supervisors to improve store performance.

Your responsibilities will also include stepping in for the General Manager during their absence, motivating staff especially during times of low morale, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Maintaining a clean and inviting environment that meets brand standards, managing cash and financial reporting accurately, addressing customer needs to build strong relationships, and overseeing inventory counts to ensure accuracy are all critical aspects of this role.

This position requires a strong leader with excellent organizational skills and the ability to address issues promptly. The successful candidate will be passionate about helping people learn and grow within the business and will possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
