Job Description
WKS Restaurant Group is a dynamic and rapidly expanding multi-concept franchise restaurant developer and operator, with over 300 stores across 17 states. As a licensed franchisee for renowned brands including Wendy's, El Pollo Loco, Denny's, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Blaze Pizza, and Corner Bakery Café, WKS prides itself on delivering high-quality food experiences and exceptional customer service. The company emphasizes operational excellence and values a strong, engaged team to support its growth and maintain its reputation across diverse markets.
Within this expansive network, the role of an Assistant General Manager at Wendy's is critical to driving operational success at the restaurant level. This position supports the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations and staff management at a Wendy's location to ensure the restaurant meets its performance objectives. The Assistant General Manager plays an essential role in executing company policies, programs, systems, and procedures to maintain consistency and quality throughout the restaurant’s operations.
The position demands a balance of leadership, operational know-how, and customer service dedication. The Assistant General Manager takes an active part in not only managing the team but also ensuring all federal, state, and local legal requirements are met, alongside upholding the highest ethical standards. This role involves a hands-on approach to training crew members, supervising restaurant workflows, and promoting a positive work environment that fosters productivity and employee development.
WKS Restaurant Group offers competitive benefits to its employees including medical, vision, and dental insurance eligibility shortly after employment begins. There are provisions for life insurance, and a 401k plan with a company match, providing financial security and a retirement savings opportunity. Employees also benefit from paid vacation time, which increases with tenure, supporting work-life balance and long-term employee retention.
This position requires knowledge of Wendy's operating systems and supervisory practices, crew training programs, and adherence to employment laws. The ideal candidate would bring a combination of technical education or equivalent work experience, along with strong communication, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. Certification requirements include attending a Crew Interviewing Workshop and obtaining Serve-Safe certification within 90 days of hire or promotion, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and staff hiring practices.
Because franchises operate independently, compensation, career advancement, and benefit offerings may vary from other company-owned Wendy’s locations. This provides a degree of flexibility and local leadership that can tailor employee experience to meet community and market-specific needs.
If you are an organized and motivated individual with a passion for the food service industry and leadership, the Assistant General Manager role at Wendy's through WKS Restaurant Group represents a promising and fulfilling career pathway. Opportunities to grow within the expansive network of stores across multiple concepts exist, making this a vibrant and engaging workplace. Join a respected team dedicated to delivering not only exceptional food but also memorable service and community impact.
