The Butcher's Table is an esteemed dining establishment located in the vibrant city of Seattle. As part of the creative food company Sugar Mountain, The Butcher's Table specializes in offering a refined and high-energy dining experience that centers around the exquisite Mishima Reserve Wagyu beef. Additionally, the establishment features a raw bar, an on-site butcher shop, a lively bar atmosphere, and an internationally recognized wine program. Sugar Mountain is renowned for its commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and the well-being of both its guests and employees. The company fosters a collaborative, inclusive, and dynamic workplace culture, making it a desirable place to build a rewarding culinary career. Employment at The Butcher's Table is full-time and comes with competitive compensation, benefits, and opportunities for personal and professional development.
The Assistant General Manager role at The Butcher's Table is a pivotal leadership position responsible for enhancing the overall guest experience while maintaining operational excellence. This high-energy management role demands a leader who is passionate about hospitality and thrives in a fast-paced, fine dining environment. The Assistant General Manager works side-by-side with the General Manager to ensure the seamless day-to-day operations of the front-of-house team. This includes leading by example on the floor as the Manager-on-Duty, ensuring each guest receives outstanding service, and modeling the company's high standards for hospitality.
In this role, the Assistant General Manager is responsible for coaching and developing the front-of-house staff in real-time, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and driving sales through a deep understanding of the menu offerings, including premium products like Wagyu beef and select wines. Additionally, the role involves managing labor and scheduling strategically to balance both employee satisfaction and financial performance. The successful candidate will lead shifts confidently from opening to closing, maintaining strong floor awareness and addressing issues proactively.
The Assistant General Manager also partners closely with the beverage team to oversee the inventory, ordering, and cost control of the beverage program, ensuring it aligns with the establishment's high standards. Maintaining a clean, organized, and polished environment across all areas of the restaurant is another crucial responsibility. When guest concerns arise, the Assistant General Manager steps in promptly to resolve them thoughtfully and efficiently.
Communication and team dynamics are vital components of this role. The Assistant General Manager must keep the General Manager informed of performance insights and opportunities for improvement. This position is not just about managing operations but also about embodying and advancing Sugar Mountain's core values through everyday leadership. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in a similar role within a high-volume, fine dining environment and possess a strong understanding of restaurant financials, including labor and cost management.
Compensation for this position ranges from $80,000 to $95,000 annually, with an additional bonus plan. Employees enjoy a robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401(k) plan with company match. The Butcher's Table and Sugar Mountain also emphasize community support through philanthropic efforts such as the Beecher's Foundation, reflecting a broader commitment to health, education, and diversity in the workplace.
Joining The Butcher's Table means becoming part of a dedicated team that values excellence, innovation, and genuine hospitality. This role offers a unique opportunity for those driven to lead with integrity, develop exceptional teams, and contribute to a growing company that prioritizes both people and performance.
