The role of Assistant General Manager at Cooper's Hawk is a pivotal leadership position within this busy, full-service restaurant environment that includes the kitchens, retail tasting room, and engaging Wine Club activities. The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in achieving operational excellence, delivering outstanding hospitality, and fostering a strong wine community. Responsibilities cover a broad array of functions including overseeing restaurant operations, managing front-of-house scheduling, ensuring adherence to food and service standards, policy enforcement, participation in inventory and financial reporting, and promoting teamwork across departments.

In this role, leadership and development of team members are paramount - from managers to hourly staff - through coaching, mentoring, training, and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. Job Requirements

  • minimum age requirement of 21 years
  • must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
  • must be able to stand for at least 10 hours per shift
  • must have the ability to work 50-60 hours per week
  • must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends and some holidays
  • maintains a professional image by adhering to guidelines listed in the team member handbook

Job Qualifications

  • 3-4 years of supervisory experience in a full-service restaurant
  • scratch kitchen experience preferred
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to read, understand and communicate in English
  • demonstrates financial acumen
  • proficient in microsoft office suite
  • is results-driven
  • able to coach team to hit restaurant targets
  • preferred certifications include servsafe and state/local licensing requirements

Job Duties

  • oversee overall restaurant operations and departments to include service and tasting room
  • review and approve front-of-house schedules in a timely manner
  • ensure execution of food and service standards during shifts
  • ensure policies and operating systems are followed
  • assist with weekly inventory procedures and financial reporting
  • use tools like pos systems, scheduling software, inventory systems, and microsoft office to stay organized
  • participate in hourly team member hiring and onboarding
