Job Description

Border Foods started as a simple idea shared between two brothers who dreamed of opening a Mexican restaurant. Since its inception, the company has blossomed into one of the largest, privately held Taco Bell franchisees in America, operating numerous locations with a commitment to quality, service, and community involvement. As a family-focused business, Border Foods fosters a people-first culture that values every member of its team from cooks to cashiers, managers, and corporate staff. The company prides itself on promoting career growth, continuous learning, evolution, and innovation within the fast-food industry, fulfilling its mission to make lives better by enhancing both employee and customer experiences.

Border Foods operates with a strong dedication to core values such as Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. These principles guide the organization's daily operations and relationships, ensuring a supportive and positive work environment across all locations. For those seeking a career in the fast-food management sector, Border Foods offers an inviting and collaborative workplace where individuals can grow professionally while making meaningful impacts on their teams and customers.

The Assistant Manager position at Border Foods is a pivotal role designed to uphold and reinforce the company’s core values. As an Assistant Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee restaurant operations and enrich the lives of both employees and guests by fostering a positive, safe, and welcoming environment. You will be responsible for building, developing, and leading a strong team committed to delivering excellent customer service and high-quality food consistently. This role requires strategic thinking, leadership, communication skills, and a passion for hospitality.

Assistant Managers at Border Foods work closely with team members and shift leaders, guiding them through their duties, ensuring compliance with safety and health standards, and maintaining operational efficiency. Your role includes managing scheduling, monitoring performance, and adhering to local, state, and federal regulations. You will also be involved in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing employees. The position emphasizes operational excellence through effective profit and loss management, inventory control, labor management, and loss prevention.

Employment with Border Foods offers several attractive benefits. The company provides flexible scheduling options to accommodate varying needs, competitive industry-leading pay, and a comprehensive bonus program where Assistant General Managers can earn up to an additional $20,000 annually. Educational initiatives such as GED and tuition reimbursement programs are available, along with scholarships to support career development. All employees, including part-time team members, have access to medical, dental, and vision benefits. Additional perks include free food, paid time off for vacation, sick days, and holidays, a vacation donation program, and a supportive workplace culture encouraging career advancement.

The hourly wage for this Assistant Manager position ranges from $14 to $35 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. This is a non-exempt management role typically requiring a minimum of 50 hours per week, with the flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate. Border Foods is committed to equal opportunity employment and welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds including minorities, women, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities.
