Job Description
Border Foods began as a simple idea between two brothers to open a Mexican restaurant and has since grown into one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in America. With years of dedication, passion, and a people-first mantra, Border Foods has successfully expanded its footprint while maintaining close ties to its Core Values: Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. The company puts a strong emphasis on community and culture, fostering an environment where every employee—from cooks and cashiers to restaurant managers—is empowered to learn, evolve, and contribute to the company’s ongoing mission of making lives better. Border Foods operates restaurants that deliver exceptional Mexican cuisine in welcoming and safe environments where customers can enjoy quality food alongside friendly, efficient service.
The Assistant Manager role at Border Foods serves as a cornerstone of this mission. As an Assistant Manager, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of reinforcing the company’s Core Values in daily restaurant operations. You will play a critical role in the overall success of the restaurant by leading and building a strong team dedicated to delivering consistent, great food and outstanding customer experience. This position is designed for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment and who are committed to fostering a positive workplace culture where every team member feels valued and supported. Your leadership will help shape the operational excellence of the restaurant, ensuring effective scheduling, quality control, and adherence to health and safety laws at all levels.
At Border Foods, the Assistant Manager is not just a supervisor but a mentor and motivator who actively contributes to the career growth of team members through coaching, training, and providing development opportunities. This role demands a strategic mindset with the ability to manage profit and loss statements, control inventory, labor, and waste, and implement plans that drive both short-term and long-term restaurant success. If you are looking for a role that offers flexible scheduling, top industry pay, and a culture that values your growth and well-being, Border Foods offers the opportunity to join a team that prizes accountability, teamwork, and the empowerment of its people. Compensation for this position ranges from $14 to $35 per hour, with potential bonuses of up to $20,000 annually, access to education programs including GED and tuition reimbursement, scholarships, and medical/dental/vision benefits available even for part-time employees. Join Border Foods in Lyons, SD, and become part of a family where your contributions have real impact and you can build a rewarding career in the restaurant industry.
