The company operates with clear core values including Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment, which are emphasized in every facet of the work environment. Border Foods aims to create supportive, safe, and welcoming spaces where employees and guests alike can thrive, grow, and enjoy a superior experience. Being a part of the Border Foods family means being on a mission to continuously learn, evolve, and positively impact the lives of others through excellent service and community engagement.
The role of Assistant Manager at Border Foods is pivotal to maintaining this mission. Assistant Managers are responsible for upholding and reinforcing the company’s core values while ensuring the smooth operation of the entire restaurant. This role requires a dynamic leader who can motivate and guide a multi-functional team to consistently deliver excellent food and a friendly customer experience. The Assistant Manager plays an essential part in creating opportunities that enhance the lives of both the team members and guests by promoting a positive and empowering work environment.
At Border Foods, Assistant Managers enjoy several benefits such as flexible scheduling, competitive hourly pay ranging from $14 to $35, and bonus opportunities that can add up to an additional $20,000 annually. The company supports employees’ educational goals through GED programs, tuition reimbursement, and scholarship opportunities. Medical, dental, and vision benefits are offered to all employees, including part-time workers. Additional perks include free food, paid vacation time, sick leave, holiday pay, and a vacation donation program. The culture at Border Foods fosters career growth backed by strong support, making it an attractive place for individuals looking to build a rewarding career in the restaurant industry.
This position requires an individual who exemplifies Accountability and Integrity by guiding and holding team members to standards. Assistant Managers ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction through fast and friendly service and ensure full compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations. The role emphasizes family and teamwork, encouraging unity and fostering a safe, supportive environment for employees and guests. You will also be involved in strategic planning, financial management using profit and loss statements, recruitment, hiring, training, and employee retention initiatives. The Assistant Manager develops team members through coaching and learning opportunities to unlock their full potential.
Ideal candidates possess a minimum of one year of combined restaurant or retail experience, sales-building skills, knowledge of P&L statements, and a proven track record in hiring and managing teams. This role demands a flexible schedule as it involves working early mornings, evenings, late nights, weekends, and some holidays, with a minimum standard of 50 hours per week. Being ServeSafe certified, at least 18 years old, holding a valid driver’s license and insurance, and having a high school diploma or equivalent are among the key requirements.
