The Assistant Manager role at Border Foods is vital to the successful operation of each restaurant. The Assistant Manager is entrusted with upholding Border Foods’ core values, building a positive team culture, and ensuring that the restaurant runs smoothly and efficiently. Assistant Managers are responsible for creating a strong, engaged team that consistently delivers high-quality food and friendly, fast service. This position requires someone who can strategically plan both short- and long-term activities to achieve restaurant success, handle the financial aspects of the operation through proficient P&L management, and enforce health and safety standards. The Assistant Manager also plays a crucial role in recruiting, hiring, and training team members, ensuring the restaurant is staffed with motivated and well-prepared employees.
This full-time, non-exempt management position offers competitive pay ranging from $14 to $35 per hour, with a robust bonus program that allows Assistant General Managers to earn up to an additional $20,000 annually. Border Foods supports continuing education and professional development through GED and tuition reimbursement programs, as well as scholarship opportunities. Job Requirements
- Minimum of one year restaurant or retail experience or combined experience and education
- experience with sales building, profit and loss statements, recruiting, and training
- proven track record of successful hiring and retention
- ability to work early morning, evenings, late night, weekends, and some holidays
- availability to work a minimum of 50 hours per week
- serveSafe certified
- high school diploma or equivalent
- valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance
- must be at least 18 years of age

Job Duties
- Reinforce the Border Foods core values
- guide and schedule team members ensuring timely completion of assigned duties
- monitor team member performance and hold members accountable for standards
- ensure quality customer experience through fast and friendly service
- maintain point of sale system and report any failures
- ensure all health and safety standards are met
- adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and guidelines
