Job Description

Border Foods began as a simple idea between two brothers who dreamed of opening a Mexican restaurant and has since expanded into one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in the United States. As a company, Border Foods proudly operates under a people-first mantra, promoting an inclusive environment where team members at every level—from cooks and cashiers to managers—are valued and empowered. With a strong focus on upholding core values such as accountability, integrity, family, excellence, teamwork, and empowerment, Border Foods creates a culture where employees continually learn, grow, and contribute to the company mission of making lives better. This commitment extends to providing safe, welcoming environments for both employees and guests, fostering a thriving workplace where everyone feels supported and motivated.

The Assistant Manager role at Border Foods is vital to the successful operation of each restaurant. The Assistant Manager is entrusted with upholding Border Foods’ core values, building a positive team culture, and ensuring that the restaurant runs smoothly and efficiently. This role focuses on improving the lives of both employees and customers by developing opportunities to enhance the restaurant experience. Assistant Managers are responsible for creating a strong, engaged team that consistently delivers high-quality food and friendly, fast service. This position requires someone who can strategically plan both short- and long-term activities to achieve restaurant success, handle the financial aspects of the operation through proficient P&L management, and enforce health and safety standards. The Assistant Manager also plays a crucial role in recruiting, hiring, and training team members, ensuring the restaurant is staffed with motivated and well-prepared employees.

This full-time, non-exempt management position offers competitive pay ranging from $14 to $35 per hour, with a robust bonus program that allows Assistant General Managers to earn up to an additional $20,000 annually. Border Foods supports continuing education and professional development through GED and tuition reimbursement programs, as well as scholarship opportunities. Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits are provided to all employees, including part-time staff. Additional perks include flexible scheduling, free food, paid vacation time, sick leave, and holiday pay, as well as a vacation donation program. The company fosters an uplifting and career-friendly culture where employees feel valued and supported in their growth. For those passionate about leadership in the hospitality industry and motivated to create positive impacts at work, this Assistant Manager position at Border Foods offers an enriching and rewarding career path.
