The Residence Inn Seattle South Renton location embodies the InnVentures commitment to superior hospitality and service. As an Assistant General Manager at this property, you will have the pivotal role of supporting the General Manager in maintaining the hotel’s shared values and culture. This leadership position calls for an individual who is dedicated to mentoring and empowering hotel employees to deliver memorable guest experiences. You will be integral in inspiring and guiding your team across various departments to champion excellent service standards and foster a positive, productive hotel environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for sustaining high operational standards, supporting sales efforts, and ensuring compliance with established policies and emergency procedures. The Assistant General Manager will typically contribute to the hotel's financial performance by focusing on guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and efficient operations. This position requires a hands-on approach, as you will be actively involved in daily tasks such as payroll, benefits administration, employee recognition, and conducting property inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • at least 2-3 years progressive hotel experience
  • bachelor’s degree preferred
  • strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
  • willingness to work long hours sometimes
  • ability to maintain a warm and friendly demeanor
  • capability to handle sensitive information confidentially
  • physical ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally
  • compliance with company standards and regulations

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years progressive experience in a hotel
  • bachelor’s degree preferred
  • maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees and guests
  • effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests
  • able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
  • participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • comply with InnVentures standards and regulations
  • maximize efforts towards productivity and assist in implementing solutions
  • effective at handling problems including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems
  • able to understand and evaluate complex information from various sources to meet objectives
  • able to maintain confidentiality of information

Job Duties

  • Interview, hire, train, support, coach and mentor various departments and teams
  • champion great service and empower employees to take care of our guests
  • cultivate relationships with guests to develop loyalty and maintain a high level of satisfaction
  • apply problem solving skills to resolve guest and/or employee issues to their satisfaction
  • monitor daily tasks to ensure that all standard operating procedures are followed
  • assist with benefits administration, payroll and other human resources tasks including employee recognition and celebrations
  • support and contribute to the proactive sales efforts of the sales team on a continual basis
  • ensure that proper emergency procedures are communicated and followed, when necessary
  • conduct property inspections to ensure the hotel is a clean, safe and secure environment
  • plan for success and improvement with staff meetings, action plans and daily huddles
  • support and fill in for the General Manager when needed
