Job Description
Border Foods is a prominent and rapidly growing franchisee of Taco Bell, renowned as one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in the United States. Originating from a simple idea shared between two brothers to open a Mexican restaurant, Border Foods has evolved into a thriving enterprise that proudly upholds a people-first mantra. Their dedication to fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment has made Border Foods a standout leader in the fast-food industry, emphasizing employee growth, community, and exceptional customer experiences. With a clear mission to make lives better, Border Foods encourages all team members — from cooks and cashiers to restaurant managers — to embody the company's Core Values, which include Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment.
The role of Assistant Manager at Border Foods offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the operation and success of one of the company’s key restaurant locations, specifically in Rosemount, MN. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a vital role in reinforcing Border Foods’ Core Values by leading with accountability and fostering an atmosphere where integrity and teamwork prevail. This position is designed for individuals committed to enhancing both employee and guest experiences by creating a welcoming, safe, and efficient restaurant environment. The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional food quality and friendly service, building strong teams, and upholding all health and safety standards.
The role also involves a strategic leadership component, requiring the Assistant Manager to balance operational excellence with a focus on financial performance. You will interpret profit and loss statements, manage labor and inventory controls, and minimize losses through adherence to strict cash handling and accounting policies. Equally important is your role as a mentor and coach, providing guidance and development opportunities to team members, conducting new hire orientations, and cultivating a culture of recognition and empowerment. Your leadership will directly impact customer satisfaction, team cohesion, and overall restaurant success.
Border Foods offers flexible scheduling and competitive compensation ranging from $14 to $35 per hour, along with an attractive bonus program where Assistant General Managers have the potential to earn up to an additional $20,000 annually. Beyond financial rewards, Border Foods invests in its employees’ growth through education programs such as GED and tuition reimbursement offerings, scholarship opportunities, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits available even for part-time positions. The company also provides free meals, paid time off including vacation, sick and holiday pay, and a vacation donation program, all within a culture that promotes career growth and outstanding support.
