The company values a culture of engagement, appreciation, inclusion, and continuous development, offering ample training and advancement opportunities to its associates. HMSHost managers act as coaches, guiding their teams to deliver outstanding service while maintaining a fun and supportive work environment. The organization thrives on teamwork, positive energy, and a passion for hospitality, ensuring that both employees and customers feel valued and satisfied throughout their journey.
The role of Assistant General Manager (AGM) at HMSHost is a pivotal position within the operational framework of Quick Service Restaurants (QSR), Casual Dine, or similar restaurant operations. As an AGM, you will assist branch leadership by tactically executing complex restaurant management tasks, ensuring smooth daily operations. This includes maintaining cleanliness, readiness for business, and appropriate staffing levels to uphold high operational standards. The position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and offers an annual salary ranging from $53,736 to $63,219. The AGM typically reports to the General Manager, Director of Operations, or Food and Beverage Multi Unit Manager.
In this role, the AGM is responsible for supervising daily associate activities and adhering to company policies and procedures to drive performance and customer satisfaction. From completing opening and closing checklists to managing employee scheduling, the AGM ensures operational goals are met effectively. Key responsibilities also include interviewing and hiring staff, promoting HMSHost as an employer of choice, managing financial and operational data to assess progress, resolving customer and associate issues, and enforcing compliance with health, safety, and adult beverage policies. The AGM also plays a vital role in maintaining safety and wellness standards, ensuring all equipment is in good working order, and upholding the visual appeal of the restaurant. This role offers a dynamic work environment with varied shifts, including openings, busy dayparts, and closing hours, requiring flexibility and active participation in the daily management of associates.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced hospitality professionals who have a strong background in food and beverage, cash handling, and customer service. With a minimum of six years of relevant experience and at least four years in supervisory roles within Casual Dine or production kitchens, the AGM is expected to lead by example, communicating effectively with staff and customers alike. HMSHost values diversity and inclusion, ensuring equal employment opportunities for all individuals regardless of their protected characteristics. By joining HMSHost as an Assistant General Manager, you become part of a company that prioritizes career growth, team engagement, and delivering excellence in hospitality.
