Job Description

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned leader in the fast-casual dining industry, known for transforming the traditional fast-food experience by focusing on responsibly sourced, classically cooked, real food made with wholesome ingredients free from artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Founded on the mission to cultivate a better world, Chipotle takes pride in its commitment to sustainability, ethical sourcing, and quality service, operating restaurants across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Unlike most chain restaurants, Chipotle owns and operates all of its locations in North America and Europe, ensuring stringent quality control and a consistent guest experience. The company continuously innovates in digital and sustainable business practices, aiming to make better food accessible to everyone while fostering a culture of respect, inclusiveness, and growth for its employees.

The Apprenticeship program at Chipotle presents an exciting career opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and eager to develop into future General Managers. As Chipotle expands rapidly with new restaurants opening nearly every day, this program provides hands-on experience in managing daily operations and leading a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Apprentices support restaurant leadership by overseeing service quality, staff training, and operational efficiency, learning essential skills such as scheduling, P&L management, sales forecasting, recruiting, and compliance with health and safety standards. Beyond operational responsibilities, the role emphasizes a guest-obsessed approach to hospitality, ensuring each customer has a positive experience that reflects Chipotle's high standards.

This position requires strong leadership qualities, enthusiasm for people development, and a genuine desire to grow professionally within a supportive company culture that values diversity and inclusion. Apprentices commit to a standard 50-hour workweek, including evenings and weekends, with applicable overtime compensation. The job demands physical stamina to work in a kitchen setting—standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating under varied temperatures. Chipotle offers competitive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement savings plan, quarterly bonuses, tuition assistance subject to eligibility, career growth opportunities, paid time off, and holiday closures.

Chipotle’s commitment to its workforce extends beyond the financial and operational aspects of employment. The company fosters a welcoming environment where every employee is encouraged to realize their potential regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. As a people-first organization, Chipotle emphasizes equal opportunity and provides reasonable accommodations for qualified applicants with disabilities to ensure fair participation in the hiring process.

Joining Chipotle as an Apprentice is not just about taking on a job; it is about becoming part of a movement to redefine fast food and build a sustainable future for food service. Individuals who are guest-focused, passionate about hospitality, and excited to develop management skills will find this role highly rewarding and instrumental for career advancement within a leading global brand.
