Job Description
Border Foods, a well-established and one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in America, began as a simple idea by two brothers to open a Mexican restaurant. Over time, it has grown exponentially, building a robust network of restaurants grounded in strong core values and a people-first approach. The company prides itself on creating a supportive and safe environment where employees and guests alike can thrive. Border Foods prioritizes its employees by fostering learning, development, and career growth, exemplifying a family-style culture centered on integrity, accountability, teamwork, excellence, and empowerment.
As an Assistant Manager at Border Foods, you will play a pivotal role in reinforcing the company’s core values, ensuring each team member is motivated and guided to deliver exceptional service. This position involves overseeing the entire restaurant's operations, from managing shift leaders and team members to ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for guests. The role is dynamic and challenging, designed for those passionate about food service, leadership, and creating positive life experiences for both employees and customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling, training, maintaining quality and safety standards, handling cash and inventory controls, and driving the restaurant’s financial success through strategic planning and labor management.
In addition to competitive hourly wages ranging from $14 to $35, Border Foods offers tremendous benefits including flexible scheduling, a lucrative bonus program where Assistant General Managers can earn up to $20,000 annually in bonuses, education programs like GED and tuition reimbursement, medical, dental, and vision benefits even for part-time employees, paid time off including vacation, sick, and holiday pay, and a vibrant culture that promotes career advancement and employee recognition. This position requires a commitment to working at least 50 hours per week with flexibility to cover early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
The Assistant Manager role is designed to build a strong, cross-functional team that embodies the company’s core values daily. They are expected to deliver consistent customer satisfaction by ensuring food quality, safety, and friendliness while managing team development and operational excellence. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of the restaurant by mentoring team members, creating efficient processes, and driving profitability through keen financial insight and effective leadership. As part of the Border Foods family, you will have the chance to grow professionally in an encouraging setting that celebrates each individual’s contributions and embraces continuous learning and development.
