This role demands a blend of analytical skills, operational oversight, and communication finesse, as the incumbent will work closely with front-line staff, vendors, and administrative teams to streamline inventory processes and ensure that meal services run smoothly in compliance with regulatory standards.

In this capacity, the Assistant General Manager/Inventory Coordinator will regularly monitor and audit inventory levels, use specialized software to track stock, and develop strategies to utilize inventory effectively. Their proactive management will aid in maintaining the ideal balance of stock to meet daily menu requirements while avoiding overstocking or shortages. Moreover, the incumbent will analyze consumption data, generate comprehensive reports, and provide insights to management that drive cost-effective practices and operational improvements. Effective communication with front-line cafeteria teams and vendors is essential to synchronize efforts and adapt to any changes such as special events or menu modifications. The role requires staying abreast of evolving food safety regulations and ensuring all operations comply with local, state, and federal guidelines relevant to school nutrition.

Besides operational duties, the position includes facilitating training and support for cafeteria staff to adopt best practices in inventory and food handling. This contributes to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across SFE’s service units.
