With a rich portfolio of brands under its umbrella, Marriott International continues to set the standard for hospitality excellence worldwide. One of its notable brands, Courtyard by Marriott, specifically caters to the needs of business travelers, offering thoughtfully designed hotels that balance comfort, convenience, and efficiency. Located at 333 E Jefferson Ave, Detroit, Michigan, the Courtyard by Marriott stands as a testament to this mission, blending modern amenities with personalized service to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests from around the globe.
The role of Management within the Rooms & Guest Services Operations at Courtyard by Marriott is pivotal to maintaining the high standards the brand is known for. This full-time management position offers an attractive annual salary range between $102,000 and $128,000, accompanied by bonus eligibility. The responsibilities are diverse and dynamic, encompassing all facets of hotel operations with a strong focus on guest and employee satisfaction, financial performance, human resources, sales, and revenue generation. The incumbent assists the General Manager in leading and implementing property-wide strategies that align with brand service standards and initiatives, aiming to not only meet but exceed guest expectations consistently.
This position demands a proactive and hands-on leader who is adept at managing multiple departments, ensuring compliance with all brand standards and local regulations, and fostering a safe and productive work environment. The manager plays a crucial role in verifying that team members adhere to brand requirements while promoting policies that guarantee fairness and open communication. Financial acumen is essential as the role covers handling accounts payable and receivable, payroll, banking procedures, and comprehensive financial reporting to assess productivity and identify areas for cost reduction and improvement.
Beyond operational and financial management, this managerial role is deeply invested in the development and mentorship of departmental teams. It requires a leader who is approachable, professional, and enthusiastic, capable of setting clear performance expectations, providing constructive coaching, and soliciting feedback for continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be instrumental in staffing decisions, ensuring appropriate scheduling is aligned with guest needs and occupancy levels.
Guest experience management is another core component of this role. The manager is expected to lead by example in extending professionalism and courtesy, motivating staff to resolve guest and employee concerns effectively, and maintaining a proactive approach to enhancing guest satisfaction. Additionally, the role involves conducting human resource activities, ensuring comprehensive orientation for new team members, and maintaining compliance with hiring practices and diversity initiatives.
Joining Courtyard by Marriott means becoming part of a passionate team dedicated to constantly improving the guest experience while supporting and celebrating the unique cultures and talents of its associates. It is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, rewarding environment where your contributions directly impact the success of the property and the satisfaction of its guests. If you are an achiever who thrives on leadership, teamwork, and continuous learning, this role offers a compelling platform to grow professionally and personally within one of the world’s most respected hospitality companies.
