The Assistant Manager position at Residence Inn plays a pivotal role in supporting comprehensive property operations, including guest and employee satisfaction, financial oversight, human resources, sales, and revenue generation. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Assistant Manager collaborates in developing and implementing property-wide strategies aimed at maximizing operational efficiency and delivering outstanding guest experiences. This role ensures adherence to brand standards and initiatives to meet or exceed guest expectations, while fostering key relationships with customers and participating in sales efforts. The Assistant Manager also oversees departmental teams, promoting professionalism, setting clear performance goals, and providing coaching to supervisors for continuous improvement. The position demands proactive management of financial operations, compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and effective handling of human resource activities such as new employee orientations and maintaining hiring practices aligned with legal standards. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
  • or 2-year degree in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
  • 2 years experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
  • knowledge of OSHA/MSDS compliance
  • strong leadership abilities
  • experience in finance and accounting
  • proficiency in scheduling tools

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • verifies that all brand standards are maintained in each area of the property
  • manages the operation of all property departments
  • promotes guarantee of fair treatment and open door policies
  • maintains a viable key control program
  • ensures current licenses and permits are maintained
  • provides a safe working environment compliant with OSHA/MSDS
  • manages finance and accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and banking procedures
  • reviews financial statements and performance data to identify cost reduction and improvements
  • complies with corporate accounting procedures
  • performs annual quality audit with GM and RD
  • stays readily available and approachable for all employees
  • extends professionalism and courtesy to employees and guests
  • leads by example demonstrating self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm
  • assists managers in scheduling to meet guest and staffing goals
  • sets clear performance expectations with the GM
  • coaches and counsels team supervisors
