The role of Restaurant General Manager at Shake Shack is a key leadership position responsible for driving operational excellence and financial success while fostering a culture of hospitality that exceeds guest expectations. This full-time position comes with a competitive salary range from $65,561.60 to $84,385.60 and includes a comprehensive benefits package. The Restaurant General Manager leads all aspects of the restaurant’s operations, from staffing and team development to adherence and enforcement of safety and health guidelines. This role requires a dynamic leader who can coach and motivate employees, manage budgets, drive sales growth, and promote the brand locally. Leaders in this role act as the face of Shake Shack in their communities, engaging with guests through thoughtful community involvement and events. Prioritizing both people and operational results, the General Manager ensures the restaurant runs efficiently while providing a welcoming and memorable dining experience. Emphasis is placed on mentorship and professional development to nurture talent within the ShackFam. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environments, a deep understanding of operational standards, and a passion for developing team members and community connections. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of restaurant general management experience
  • Experience in personnel management, food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation and health codes, and security
  • Ability to learn Shack operations and train others
  • Demonstrated hospitality leadership and team motivation
  • Strong coaching and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of financial business operations
  • Experience with P&L responsibilities
  • Food handler certification preferred
  • Willingness to work flexible hours

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of restaurant general management experience in a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of restaurant operations, including personnel management, food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation and health codes, and security
  • Ability to learn and train others on all aspects of the Shack operations
  • Demonstrated ability to champion hospitality and motivate team members
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on coaching and achieving excellence
  • Knowledgeable in all financial aspects of business operations
  • Minimum 3 years of P&L responsibilities
  • Food handler certification, preferred
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
