The role of the Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Fitness 19 is a critical leadership position responsible for ensuring that all membership, fitness, service, and related club functions operate efficiently to deliver the best possible member experience and foster a positive team member environment. As the key leader supporting the General Manager, the AGM upholds and communicates company standards, manages club cleanliness and maintenance, and promotes a culture of exceptional service. The Assistant General Manager holds primary accountability for the club experience from both a member and employee perspective. Duties include managing schedules, ensuring compliance with labor laws and workplace standards, and overseeing vendor relationships. The AGM also leads sales initiatives, including membership, retail, and personal training sales, and supports team members' professional development through training and coaching.
Beyond operational oversight, the AGM is responsible for planning by setting monthly goals for membership, fitness, service, and employee performance, as well as providing regular performance progress reports. - CPR and AED certification

- ability to review, revise and create club paperwork
- ability to communicate with employees, members and the public
- ability to access and operate club computer systems including prepare documents, enter data, and read reports
- ability to work a varied schedule including extended workdays, weekends and holidays
- management experience preferred

- Automated External Defibrillator experience preferred

Job Duties

- act as the key point of accountability for club experience for both members and employees
- responsible for the successful attainment of club goals including member service goals, cleanliness, revenue, and sales goals
- leading the execution of club programs and policies and implementing and executing a budget with specified revenue, expense, profit amounts
- executing and maintaining daily, weekly and monthly employee schedules
- ensure compliance with all labor laws including meal and rest break laws and maintaining a harassment free workplace
- assist in managing all employees of the club and report directly to the General Manager
- assist in oversight of all vendor relationships within the club
- responsible for all customer service interactions
- participate and provide club specific input into the development and improvement of the club
- help set monthly club membership, fitness, service and employee goals
- maintain a fully engaged and high performing team that aligns with Fitness 19 values and goals
- provide consistent accountability for employees through training, coaching, and performance reviews
- recognize good performance and discipline when necessary
