Residence Inn by Marriott is part of the global Marriott International family, a renowned leader in the hospitality industry dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences and fostering a diverse, welcoming workplace culture. Residence Inn specializes in long-stay accommodations, offering spacious suites with full kitchens and other home-like amenities that allow guests to thrive during extended visits. The brand is committed to delivering personalized service with a human touch to both business travelers and leisure guests, distinguishing itself by cultivating a supportive, team-oriented environment. Working at Residence Inn means joining a portfolio of prestigious hotel brands under Marriott International, giving associates access to robust career development opportunities and the chance to belong to a dynamic, global team.
This position is a full-time management role based at the Residence Inn located at 1725 Richard Petty Blvd, Daytona Beach, Florida. The role offers a competitive annual salary range of $59,000 to $80,000, with eligibility for bonuses, reflecting the key responsibilities and the leadership expectations associated with the role. The position is not remote, requiring hands-on involvement on the property to directly manage operations and staff.
The Assistant Manager is entrusted with supporting all facets of the property’s operations, including guest and employee satisfaction, human resources, financial management, sales, and revenue generation, ultimately ensuring a solid return on investment. This role assists the General Manager in leading the team to develop and implement property-wide strategies that adhere to brand standards and meet or exceed guest expectations. The Assistant Manager verifies the consistent implementation of brand service strategies and initiatives across departments, fostering an environment where customer service excellence is paramount.
Leadership responsibilities include building strong relationships with key customers and actively participating in the sales process to drive business growth. The Assistant Manager plays a pivotal role in managing departmental operations, promoting policies like Guarantee of Fair Treatment and the Open Door policy to maintain a positive workplace culture, ensuring compliance with all required licenses and maintaining a safe work environment aligned with OSHA and MSDS standards.
Financial oversight is a significant aspect of the role, encompassing accounts payable and receivable, payroll, banking procedures, petty cash management, and end-of-period processes. The Assistant Manager is tasked with reviewing financial statements, sales, and performance reports to monitor productivity, goal achievement, and identify cost reduction opportunities, ensuring all activities comply with corporate accounting procedures.
From a human resources perspective, this position requires ensuring thorough and timely orientations for new team members, adhering to hiring practices compliant with I-9 and EEO standards, and fostering a culturally diverse workplace. The Assistant Manager must be approachable, demonstrating professionalism, energy, and enthusiasm to lead by example and support team development through coaching and counseling. Setting clear performance expectations in collaboration with the General Manager and assisting in scheduling to optimize staffing aligned with guest services goals are also critical duties.
The role demands a proactive approach to managing the guest experience by being readily available to address concerns, motivating staff to resolve issues effectively, and helping employees understand and exceed guest expectations. This management position requires a balance of hands-on operational oversight, leadership in team management, financial acumen, and a strong commitment to delivering superior guest service. Joining Residence Inn by Marriott offers a unique opportunity to grow within a respected hospitality brand renowned for its culture of inclusivity and excellence, supporting associates to become the best versions of themselves in a vibrant, supportive environment.
