Job Description

The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp are the Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins and the reigning 2025 Triple-A National Champions. The team plays at VyStar Ballpark, located in the heart of downtown Jacksonville, Florida. Known for delivering affordable and family-friendly entertainment, the Jumbo Shrimp are a beloved presence in one of the fastest-growing markets in the United States. Owned and operated by Prospector Baseball Group (PBG), the franchise is part of a portfolio of Minor League Baseball clubs focused on operational excellence, community engagement, and fan experience enhancement. PBG is an operator-led platform that leverages deep operational expertise, long-term stewardship, and advanced technology to empower local leadership, ensuring these clubs flourish by becoming uniquely integral to their communities.

The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp serve not only as a professional baseball team but as a vibrant community hub where fans of all ages gather to enjoy America’s pastime. The organization prioritizes fan-centric experiences and strives to continuously drive attendance and engagement through innovative promotions, group sales initiatives, and outstanding ballpark hospitality. The team’s commitment to community involvement and its strong brand identity make it a standout franchise within Minor League Baseball.

The role of the Assistant General Manager (AGM) is crucial to the continued success and growth of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. Reporting directly to the President and General Manager, the AGM acts as a senior operational and strategic leader responsible for driving business growth, enhancing fan engagement, and expanding the club’s presence within the community. This leadership position is tasked with owning and executing the club’s attendance strategy, ensuring VyStar Ballpark fills to capacity across all 75 regular-season home games. The AGM leads multiple departments including Ticket Sales, Merchandise, Broadcasting and Media Relations, Productions, Community Relations, Digital Content and Social Media, as well as Graphic Design.

This high-visibility role demands a combination of analytical rigor, creative problem-solving, and energetic execution in a fast-paced environment. The AGM develops game-by-game attendance targets, utilizes data analytics to identify attendance gaps, and collaborates with marketing and promotions teams to craft compelling in-park experiences that foster repeat visitation and boost group sales. Responsibility for managing the budget for revenue-generating functions such as ticketing and merchandise also falls under the AGM.

In addition to operational duties, the AGM plays a vital role in team leadership and cross-departmental collaboration. This role requires managing and mentoring department heads to encourage accountability, creativity, and customer focus. The AGM also champions innovation and keeps the organization agile and competitive by harmonizing efforts across sales, marketing, community outreach, and fan engagement platforms. Representing the club at community, civic, media, and league events further amplifies the team’s local and regional presence.

Marketing and brand management are integral to the AGM's responsibilities. Oversight of social media strategies, public relations, media partnerships, and brand presentation ensures consistent, engaging messaging that drives public awareness and attendance. The AGM’s efforts also include cultivating critical relationships within the Jacksonville and broader Florida business communities to enhance the Jumbo Shrimp’s brand and community footprint.

Candidates for this role should bring substantial leadership experience, preferably with a background in sports or entertainment industries, and demonstrate a proven track record in driving ticket sales and fan engagement. A passion for baseball, excellent communication skills, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to work a flexible schedule are essential for success in this position. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead one of Minor League Baseball’s most respected franchises while shaping its long-term vision and deepening its community impact.
