The Assistant General Manager role is a pivotal leadership position within the restaurant, responsible for supporting the General Manager by upholding brand standards and inspiring the team to achieve excellence. This role involves leading by example through training, coaching, and recognizing team members to consistently deliver outstanding customer experiences. The Assistant General Manager acts as the key decision-maker during the General Manager's absence, overseeing daily operations and driving the team toward high performance and success.

In this role, you will ensure consistent customer satisfaction by effectively modeling the restaurant's success routines and prioritizing guest needs. You will oversee adherence to operational standards including food safety, shift responsibilities, and core operational excellence. Collaborating closely with the General Manager, you will provide ongoing performance feedback, address employee relations issues with timely resolutions, and contribute to the recruitment and hiring processes to build a strong, inclusive team.

Financial acumen is critical for this position as you will assist with profit and loss management by implementing cash control and security measures, managing inventory, labor, and reviewing financial reports to optimize restaurant performance. Additionally, you will support facility maintenance and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • Experience assisting with Profit & Loss management by following cash control and security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, and reviewing financial reports
  • Ability to ensure all employees receive proper training and resources
  • Commitment to promoting equity, inclusion, and belonging in the restaurant
  • Strong communication skills for performance appraisals, disciplinary action, and employee motivation and training
  • Adherence to corporate policies, procedures, and Occupational Health and Safety standards
  • Ability to lead efforts in individual and team recognition and motivation

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • Experience assisting with Profit & Loss management including cash control, security, inventory, labor, and financial report review
  • Strong communication skills for conducting performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and employee training

Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent customer satisfaction by effectively modeling the MIC Success Routine and prioritizing customer needs
  • Oversee Team Members' adherence to Shift Excellence responsibilities
  • Maintain high food safety standards and uphold Core excellence
  • Take charge of restaurant operations in the General Manager's absence
  • Collaborate with the General Manager in assessing team performance and providing ongoing feedback
  • Address employee relations issues and determine appropriate resolutions or escalate when necessary
  • Assist in sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Team Members
  • Act like an owner by assisting with Profit & Loss management including cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance, and labor management
  • Review financial reports and take actions to optimize performance
  • Support the General Manager in facility maintenance and ensure health and safety standards are followed
