The Assistant GM supports and directs multiple departments with a strong focus on food and beverage management, including hiring, training, and supervising staff to maintain quality standards. This leadership position involves managing club and private catering events, coordinating golf outings, and ensuring a superior guest experience at every touchpoint. The Assistant General Manager also oversees revenue streams such as golf rounds, food and beverage sales, merchandising, and agronomy, ensuring each area contributes positively to the club's profitability.\n\nIn addition to operational management, the Assistant GM is involved in strategic planning, including creating marketing plans, pricing strategies, and responding quickly to market trends to keep the club competitive. Job Requirements

  • Five to seven years of golf course, food and beverage, or hospitality service experience preferred
  • Four-year college degree preferred but not required
  • Ability to manage multiple revenue streams including food and beverage, golf rounds, merchandising, and agronomy
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and retain employees
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with computer applications and accounting knowledge
  • Ability to respond quickly to guest needs and ensure satisfaction
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays and 50 plus hours per week
  • Ability to be on call when away from work
  • Positive attitude and commitment to outstanding customer service

Job Qualifications

  • Five to seven years of golf course, food and beverage, or hospitality service experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Support and assist the General Manager with all club operations to meet performance and profit goals
  • Manage day-to-day food and beverage operations including hiring and training staff
  • Oversee club and private catering events ensuring quality and exceptional guest service
  • Administer property policies and procedures as defined by ownership
  • Manage all sources of revenue including golf rounds, food and beverage, merchandising, and agronomy
  • Create and monitor the Food and Beverage annual budget
  • Develop local and national marketing plans and pricing strategies
  • Participate actively in sales discussions and meetings
  • Ensure all departments maintain profitability and strong interdepartmental relationships
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and follow up to ensure satisfaction
  • Enforce compliance with all federal, state, and local laws related to kitchen and bar operations
  • Protect clubhouse assets through a preventative maintenance program
  • Conduct regular employee meetings focusing on motivation and retention
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and communication abilities
  • Maintain a problem-solving orientation with a focus on quality results
  • Work within established standards and guidelines
