Job Description
WKS Restaurant Group is a dynamic and rapidly expanding multi-concept franchise restaurant developer and operator, managing over 300 stores in 17 states across the United States. As a licensed franchisee, WKS operates a diverse collection of renowned brands including El Pollo Loco, Wendy's, Denny's, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Blaze Pizza, and Corner Bakery Cafe. With a strong commitment to growth, quality, and customer satisfaction, WKS prides itself on fostering a professional and engaging work environment that supports both employee development and operational excellence. The company continually strives to enhance the guest experience by delivering consistent quality food and service through its various franchises, making it a leading player in the food service industry.
Wendy's, one of the premier fast-food chains under the WKS Restaurant Group, is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant General Manager to join their team. This role is designed to support the General Manager in efficiently managing the operations and staff of a Wendy's restaurant, ensuring the smooth execution of all company policies, procedures, programs, and systems. The Assistant General Manager plays a vital role in achieving the store's objectives by following company guidelines and maintaining compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, as well as ethical business practices.
The successful candidate will be entrusted with various responsibilities, including overseeing daily restaurant operations, supporting staff supervision, and ensuring exceptional customer service standards. This position requires a high level of organizational skill, strong leadership qualities, and the ability to motivate and develop team members to perform at their best. You will have direct involvement in the execution of crew orientation and training programs, reinforcing a positive workplace culture and ensuring all employees are well-equipped to meet operational goals.
In addition to operational duties, the role involves maintaining strict adherence to safety and health regulations and participating in problem-solving activities related to the restaurant’s business processes. To support these efforts, the Assistant General Manager must have a solid understanding of the company’s operating systems and supervisory practices, as well as a working knowledge of employment laws and training methodologies.
Employment with Wendy’s through WKS Restaurant Group offers competitive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance eligibility the first day of the month following 30 days of employment, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with company matching and immediate vesting after one year of employment. Paid vacation time is accrued bi-weekly, starting at two weeks annually and increasing to three weeks after five years of service. These benefits underscore the company’s commitment to supporting the health, well-being, and financial security of its employees.
This position requires at least a one-year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months of related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as the capacity to write reports and effectively speak before groups. Mathematical skills including basic arithmetic and percentage calculations are also required.
Candidates must be able to attend a Crew Interviewing Workshop within 90 days of hire or promotion and must obtain Serve-Safe Certification. Wendy’s franchise locations under WKS are independently owned and operated, so compensation, benefits, and career progression may vary from company-owned locations. This role represents an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to advance their careers in restaurant management within a well-established and supportive franchise network.
