Lettuce Entertain You is currently hiring for the position of Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Summer House. This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of USD $70,000 to USD $90,000 per year along with substantial benefits including health insurance and paid time off. The AGM will play a pivotal role in managing daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth business functions and an outstanding experience for guests and employees alike. The position requires a minimum of two years of AGM experience within a full-service restaurant, emphasizing leadership, training, recruitment, customer service, and financial management.
The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager, supporting them in administrative responsibilities, HR functions, and financial oversight including account reconciliations and statement preparations. This role is crucial in fostering a Culture of Caring that nurtures team members and delivers superior hospitality. Frequent responsibilities include organizing opening and closing shifts, supervising staff, responding promptly to guest and employee needs, and managing inventory and supply orders. The AGM will also be involved in the hiring, onboarding, and continuous development of back-of-house employees, ensuring operational excellence.
In addition to operational duties, the AGM must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, tact, and patience when handling challenges with guests, vendors, or team members. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, including working early mornings, late nights, weekends, and potentially multiple locations with some overnight travel. Physical requirements include the ability to move and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, supporting hands-on operational needs.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 plus years of Assistant General Manager experience in a full-service restaurant
- 5 plus years of restaurant management experience

Job Duties
- Ensure day-to-day business operations run smoothly
- assist with training, recruiting, HR and administrative duties
- assist with financials and statement preparation
- assist the General Manager with customer service inquiries
- organize, run and supervise smooth and efficient daily opening and closing shifts
- provide guidance and leadership to hourly and management teams
- respond immediately and effectively to guest and employee needs and feedback
- assist General Manager in managing costs, driving sales and growing the business
- partner with General Manager and management team to interview, hire, onboard, train, supervise and develop back-of-house employees
- perform regular and ad hoc inventories of food, beverage and restaurant supplies
- place orders and accept deliveries
- model and promote teamwork across all teams
- use tact and good judgment in dealing with guests, vendors and employees
- work a variety of days and shifts including early mornings, late nights and weekends
- move and lift up to 50 pounds as needed
