The role on offer at Shake Shack is for a Restaurant General Manager, responsible for leading high-volume, fast-paced restaurant operations to deliver memorable guest experiences. This position is crucial in maintaining the company’s top-notch standards of excellence and hospitality. The successful candidate will be entrusted with coaching and developing team members to their fullest potential while managing all facets of restaurant operations including inventory, quality control, safety, payroll, and scheduling. The General Manager plays a pivotal role in achieving financial and profitability goals through effective budget management, driving sales, and controlling costs.

Another key responsibility includes implementing company policies and procedures to ensure local and state health and safety code compliance, safeguarding both guests and staff. The role demands a strategic mindset to promote the Shake Shack brand within the local community through word-of-mouth and participation in restaurant events. Leadership within this role also involves championing a culture of hospitality, motivating staff, and setting a standard for excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of General Management experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment, paired with an in-depth understanding of food planning, personnel management, sanitation standards, and business financials including profit and loss responsibilities. The role also calls for flexible availability and the ability to quickly learn and train others on all aspects of Shake Shack operations. A food handler certification is preferred but not required.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of restaurant general management experience in a high volume, fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • minimum 3 years of P&L responsibilities
  • food handler certification, preferred
  • willingness to work flexible hours
