The role of Assistant General Manager is vital for the ongoing success of the restaurant. This position supports the Restaurant General Manager by upholding brand standards, inspiring and leading the team, and ensuring top-notch customer experiences every day. The Assistant General Manager acts as a critical leader by training, coaching, and recognizing the contributions of the staff. They also take charge when the General Manager is absent, making key operational decisions and ensuring the seamless running of the restaurant. This full-time role offers a balanced workweek of 50 hours, with 40 hours paid at a regular rate and 10 hours paid at time and a half, reflecting the demanding yet rewarding nature of the position.

In this role, the Assistant General Manager will prioritize customer satisfaction by consistently modeling successful operational routines, monitoring food safety and cleanliness, and collaborating with the General Manager on performance management. Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • Assist with profit and loss management by following cash control, security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, and reviewing financial reports
  • Ensure all employees receive proper training and resources
  • Champion the company's culture and values, promoting equity, inclusion, and belonging in the restaurant
  • Lead efforts in individual and team recognition, collaboration, and motivation
  • Identify and recruit exceptional talent, supporting the General Manager in the hiring process
  • Possess strong communication skills for conducting performance appraisals, taking disciplinary action, and motivating and training employees
  • Adhere to corporate policies, procedures, and Occupational Health and Food Safety standards

Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent customer satisfaction by effectively modeling the MIC Success Routine and prioritizing customer needs
  • Oversee team members' adherence to shift excellence responsibilities, maintain high food safety standards, and uphold core excellence
  • Take charge of restaurant operations in the General Manager's absence
  • Collaborate with the General Manager in assessing team performance, providing ongoing constructive and positive feedback
  • Address employee relations issues as they arise, determine immediate resolutions or escalate to the General Manager when necessary
  • Assist in sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring team members while driving a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Assist with profit and loss management, including cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance, and labor management
  • Review financial reports and take appropriate actions to optimize performance
  • Support the General Manager in facility maintenance and ensure health and safety standards are consistently followed
