As an Assistant General Manager, you play a pivotal role in the success and smooth operation of the restaurant. Supporting the Restaurant General Manager, you ensure that brand standards are consistently met while inspiring your team to deliver unforgettable customer experiences. This position involves overseeing daily restaurant operations in the absence of the General Manager, making important decisions, and guiding the team toward excellence. You will take ownership of various operational areas, including profit and loss management, cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance, and labor management. Your attention to detail and proactive approach are critical in maintaining high food safety standards and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

You will work closely with the General Manager to assess team performance, provide ongoing feedback, and address any employee relations issues promptly. Participation in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new team members is key, with a strong focus on promoting equity, inclusion, and belonging within the workplace. The role offers a balanced work schedule of 50 hours per week, including 40 hours at regular pay and 10 hours at time and a half, reflecting the company’s commitment to rewarding hard work and dedication.

Job Requirements

3+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
Experience assisting with profit and loss management including cash control and security procedures
Experience maintaining inventory control and managing labor
Ability to ensure proper training and resource allocation for all employees
Commitment to promoting equity, inclusion, and belonging
Strong communication skills for performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and employee motivation
Knowledge of corporate policies, procedures, and occupational health and food safety standards
Ability to address employee relations and resolve conflicts or escalate when necessary

Job Qualifications

3+ years of restaurant/retail management experience
Assist with Profit & Loss management by following cash control/security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, and reviewing financial reports
Ensure all employees receive proper training and resources
Champion the restaurant’s culture and values, promoting equity, inclusion, and belonging in the restaurant
Lead efforts in individual and team recognition, collaboration, and motivation
Identify and recruit exceptional talent, supporting the GM in the hiring process
Possess strong communication skills for conducting performance appraisals, taking disciplinary action, and motivating and training employees
Adhere to corporate policies, procedures, and Occupational Health and Food Safety standards

Job Duties

Ensure consistent customer satisfaction by effectively modeling the MIC Success Routine and prioritizing customer needs
Oversee Team Members' adherence to Shift Excellence responsibilities, maintain high food safety standards, and uphold Core excellence
Take charge of restaurant operations in the GM's absence
Collaborate with the GM in assessing team performance, providing ongoing constructive and positive feedback
Address employee relations issues as they arise, determine immediate resolutions, or escalate to the GM when necessary
Assist in sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Team Members, while driving a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging
Act like an owner by assisting with Profit & Loss management, including cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance, and labor management
Review financial reports and take appropriate actions to optimize performance
Support the GM in facility maintenance and ensure health and safety standards are consistently followed
