The Assistant Manager (AM) position at Blaze Pizza is a pivotal leadership role that provides overall guidance and support to the General Manager (GM) in building a team of unmatched talent dedicated to delivering excellent product quality and industry-breaking guest service. The AM plays an integral part in ensuring every shift runs smoothly, championing brand standards, and utilizing operational tools to meet and exceed business targets. Responsibilities include recruiting and training employees, overseeing compliance with health and safety standards, managing inventory and labor budgets appropriate for a $1.5 million to $2.5 million volume restaurant, and ensuring operational excellence across all shifts. The AM is also tasked with monitoring restaurant performance metrics such as Speed with Service (SWS) and online ordering (OLO) targets, taking timely corrective actions when required.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate leadership skills which positively reinforce the Blaze Pizza culture
  • communicate clearly with collaborative mindset to resolve conflict, problem solve and influence behavior
  • recruit and equip employees to deliver great guest interactions and consistent product quality
  • guide performance conversations and use coaching practices with team members
  • communicate performance growth and observations to the General Manager to support establishing a healthy bench of team members
  • apply local health and safety codes and company safety and security policies on every shift
  • oversee inventory and labor allowances to support a $1.5 million - $2.5 million restaurant
  • ensure safe restaurant environment conditions prioritizing guest safety
  • monitor restaurant Speed with Service (SWS) and online ordering (OLO) performance targets every shift
  • serve as a role model in resolving guest feedback and work to exceed guest service standards
  • coach team on guest feedback, product quality and speed with service opportunities
  • communicate and schedule maintenance in the restaurant
  • monitor equipment cleaning schedules
  • coordinate facility upgrades or equipment replacement with corporate office
  • manage labor and team member performance behavior observations and take corrective action when necessary
  • proactively assist the General Manager in other operations excellence tasks as assigned
