Job Description

We are a dynamic company dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence in the hospitality industry. Our team is driven by a passion for service and a commitment to maintaining high standards in every aspect of our operations. As a thriving business, we focus on leadership, teamwork, and continuous improvement to ensure that our guests consistently receive outstanding service and memorable experiences.

The role of the Assistant General Manager (AGM) is pivotal in supporting the General Manager and driving the operational success of our establishment. The AGM must be a strong, positive, and vocal leader who embodies the company's vision and direction. This leadership position requires hands-on involvement, providing clear communication and guidance during each shift. The AGM is responsible for upholding our standards and holding team members, referred to as smile makers, accountable at all times.

This position requires flexible scheduling in alignment with the General Manager's guidelines and entails a scheduled forty-hour workweek. The AGM's responsibilities are comprehensive, focusing on various aspects of shift operations, labor control, food waste minimization, recipe accuracy, service speed and quality, cleanliness, and overall productivity. The AGM leads by example, ensuring that every shift runs smoothly and guest satisfaction remains high.

Additionally, the AGM plays a crucial role in schedule writing, utilizing forecasting skills to balance labor costs with the need to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Training coordination is another key aspect of the role, assisting in the development of team members alongside Certified Trainers and the General Manager through follow-up and validation processes.

The Assistant General Manager also supports the hiring process, conducting initial interviews using structured questionnaires and providing valuable feedback on candidate suitability. Financial responsibilities include handling cash, managing deposits, and overseeing petty cash expenditures during shifts.

Inventory management and ordering fall under the AGM's purview, with guidance from the General Manager to master par levels and ensure accurate ordering. A good understanding of food, labor, and supply costs is essential to manage margins effectively and keep the business aligned with budgetary goals.

Further operational knowledge development is encouraged, covering areas such as repairs and maintenance, budgeting, goal setting, personnel development, and profit and loss understanding. Physical capability to lift up to 15-20 pounds is required for inventory tasks, and a working knowledge of computer systems is necessary for efficient operation.

Candidates must agree to background and credit checks, hold eligibility to work in the United States, and possess a valid driver’s license and manager's Food Safety Certificate.
