Job Description
Our company is a dynamic and forward-thinking establishment committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high operational standards. As a reputable player in the hospitality sector, we pride ourselves on cultivating a positive workplace culture that values leadership, teamwork, and continuous improvement. The company has developed a robust framework centered around clear communication, accountability, and efficiency, ensuring that every team member is aligned with the overall vision and goals. Our commitment extends beyond operational excellence to include thorough training, employee development, and adherence to best practices in food safety and customer service. We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our leadership team and contribute significantly to our ongoing success and growth.
The role of the Assistant General Manager is pivotal in upholding the company’s standards and supporting the General Manager in all facets of unit operation. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring a strong, positive, and vocal leader who is capable of inspiring and directing the team during shifts. The AGM must consistently mirror the company’s vision and work closely alongside the General Manager to maintain high standards related to guest experiences, operational efficiency, and employee accountability. The position necessitates excellent communication skills, a thorough understanding of labor management, inventory control, and financial metrics such as food and labor costs.
The AGM will be tasked with leading shifts by focusing on key operational areas including controlling labor, minimizing food waste, ensuring recipe accuracy, streamlining speed and steps of service, and maintaining cleanliness and productivity. They must also become proficient in schedule writing—forecasting labor needs while guaranteeing outstanding guest service throughout the shift. Training coordination with Certified Trainers and active participation in hiring processes are critical components of this role, further emphasizing the collaborator aspect of the position.
Financial responsibilities also fall under the Assistant General Manager’s domain, including cash handling, deposits, drawer counts, petty cash purchases, and assisting with inventory and ordering to keep the unit operating within budgetary constraints. A solid understanding of margins, budgeting, and profit and loss (P&L) reports is essential to help drive the business's profitability.
Additionally, the AGM is expected to assist the General Manager in developing knowledge and skills related to unit operations, such as repair and maintenance, goal setting, personnel development, and overall operational excellence. The role requires a flexible schedule that complies with the General Manager’s scheduling guidelines and adheres to a Forty Hour work week. Physical demands include the ability to lift moderately heavy items (15-20 lbs) for activities like inventory stocking.
This position requires a valid driver’s license, eligibility to work in the United States, successful completion of background and credit checks, and possession of a manager’s Food Safety Certificate. Bilingual candidates are considered a plus, reflecting our commitment to inclusivity and effective communication. Our company participates in E-Verify to confirm employment eligibility, underscoring the integrity of our hiring practices and our compliance with federal regulations.
By joining us as an Assistant General Manager, you will be part of a dedicated leadership team focused on innovation, customer service excellence, and operational success. This role offers the opportunity to enhance your leadership skills while contributing to an established and growing company that values your input and dedication. If you are a proactive leader ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role, we invite you to apply and take the next step in your career with us.
