Job Description

The Row Hotel at Assembly Row Autograph Collection, located in the vibrant Assembly Row district of Somerville, Massachusetts, is a unique independent hotel operated by Colwen Management, Inc. This property is part of the prestigious Autograph Collection—a collection of four and five-star independent hotels under Marriott International that emphasizes individuality, quality, and immersive guest experiences. The Row Hotel enjoys an ideal location surrounded by premier shopping, diverse dining options, scenic waterfront views, and convenient access to the Orange Line, making it a popular destination for both leisure and business travelers.

Colwen Management, Inc. is an independent franchisee separate from Marriott International, responsible solely for all employment policies and practices at this hotel. This distinction offers employees a unique and autonomous work environment while still benefiting from the prestige and standards associated with the Autograph Collection brand. Colwen Hotels prides itself on a culture fueled by people, passion, and innovation. Founded on principles of hard work and authenticity, Colwen encourages its teams to deliver forward-thinking hospitality experiences and supports career growth with a robust pipeline of hotel developments across nine states.

This role is a part-time Assistant General Manager position, offering an annual salary range of $90,000 to $95,000. The position demands a dynamic leader who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and seeks to make a tangible impact on the hotel’s success. The Assistant General Manager plays a crucial role in driving operational excellence and ensuring exceptional guest experiences while fostering a positive and motivating workplace. This is not a role for someone who prefers a desk job; it is designed for visible, engaged leadership where collaboration and direct team interaction are key.

As Assistant General Manager at The Row Hotel, you will partner closely with the General Manager to oversee multiple key departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Accounting, Food and Beverage, and Engineering. Your main focus areas will be on Front Office and Accounting operations, ensuring that every guest interaction reflects the high standards and brand promise of both Autograph Collection and Colwen Hotels. You will lead daily operations, coach and develop team members, support recruitment and engagement, and maintain strict adherence to brand standards and financial goals.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional with at least three years of management experience who is eager to step up their leadership journey and align their career growth with a company that values innovation, initiative, and employee development. Beyond operational duties, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the hotel's culture, promoting exceptional service, and creating memorable guest experiences that stand out in the competitive hospitality market.

The Row Hotel also provides a rich array of benefits including medical insurance with a company-funded Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) plan with employer match (both traditional and Roth), paid time off, an employee assistance program, hotel discount travel programs for associates and their families, exclusive travel, retail and entertainment discounts, and extensive training and development programs. The company emphasizes equal employment opportunities and invites passionate hospitality leaders to join its expanding portfolio and be part of an inspiring global team that encourages employees to be their best selves.
