The role of Assistant General Manager at Taco Bell is crucial in maintaining the restaurant's success by supporting the General Manager with day-to-day operations and leadership. This role acts as the key decision-maker in the General Manager's absence, handling operational tasks such as profit and loss management, labor control, inventory oversight, facility maintenance, and adherence to health and safety protocols. The Assistant General Manager will work approximately 50 hours per week, with a compensation range of $48,000 to $60,000 annually, including regular pay and overtime. Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • Ability to assist with Profit & Loss management including cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance, and labor management
  • Ability to ensure all employees receive proper training and resources
  • Ability to champion Taco Bell's culture and values promoting equity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Skills to lead efforts in individual and team recognition, collaboration, and motivation
  • Ability to identify and recruit exceptional talent supporting the General Manager in the hiring process
  • Strong communication skills for performance appraisals, disciplinary action, and employee motivation
  • Adherence to corporate policies, procedures, and Occupational Health and Food Safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years of restaurant or retail management experience
  • Strong communication skills for conducting performance appraisals, taking disciplinary action, and motivating and training employees
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Experience assisting with Profit & Loss management tasks such as cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance, and labor management
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards and corporate policies
  • Ability to foster a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging within the team
  • Demonstrated skills in recruitment and employee development

Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent customer satisfaction by effectively modeling the MIC Success Routine and prioritizing customer needs
  • Oversee team members adherence to Shift Excellence responsibilities, maintain high food safety standards, and uphold Core excellence
  • Take charge of restaurant operations in the General Manager's absence
  • Collaborate with the General Manager in assessing team performance, providing ongoing constructive and positive feedback
  • Address employee relations issues as they arise, determine immediate resolutions, or escalate to the General Manager when necessary
  • Assist in sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring team members while driving a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Assist with Profit & Loss management including cash control, security procedures, inventory maintenance, and labor management
  • Review financial reports and take appropriate actions to optimize performance
  • Support the General Manager in facility maintenance and ensure health and safety standards are consistently followed
