Job Description
Vail Resorts is a world-renowned mountain resort company that operates more than 40 resorts across three continents, offering a unique blend of adventure, hospitality, and guest service experiences. The company is dedicated to providing exceptional opportunities for employees to thrive within the outdoor lifestyle, whether they are first-time snow visitors or lifelong enthusiasts. Vail Resorts prides itself on fostering a vibrant community where team members and guests from around the globe come together to create memorable experiences. With a rich legacy in mountain resort hospitality, Vail Resorts combines high-quality service with unparalleled access to the slopes, making it an employer of choice for those passionate about the outdoors and guest engagement.
The Assistant Front Office Manager role at Vail Resorts is a critical position responsible for the daily oversight and management of front office operations, including the front desk, concierge, resort services, bell, and valet departments. This full-time, year-round position offers a competitive starting wage ranging from $52,000 to $60,000. The role involves providing leadership and guidance to front office staff to ensure consistent delivery of outstanding customer service. The Assistant Front Office Manager will be instrumental in resolving guest issues through thorough investigation and decision-making aligned with resort standards. The position requires managing staff performance, conducting training and development, and maintaining operational standards to exceed guest expectations.
In this role, you will actively engage in monitoring guest satisfaction through platforms such as Medallia, Google, TripAdvisor, and internal surveys, using data insights to drive service improvements. Coordination with other departments like sales and reservations ensures optimal room assignments, revenue maximization, and personalized service for repeat guests. The Assistant Front Office Manager also handles billing issues, reservation management, and employee training programs. This role calls for a proactive leader who can conduct daily meetings, uphold service excellence, and lead by example in a dynamic and fast-paced mountain resort environment.
Joining Vail Resorts means access to some of the most desirable employee benefits in the hospitality industry, including free Epic passes and lessons for skiing and snowboarding, significant employee discounts on retail, lodging, food, and transportation, as well as wellness programs that promote overall employee success. Seasonal employees who work over 500 hours are eligible for additional benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, reflecting the company's commitment to employee well-being.
Vail Resorts encourages a flexible, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture that respects diversity and offers equal employment opportunities. Prospective candidates should be at least 18 years old and ready to work varying shifts, including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays. While housing is not provided for this role, employees benefit from ongoing learning and growth opportunities through the company’s renowned Epic Service training program. If you are passionate about hospitality, possess strong leadership skills, and want to be part of an exciting mountain resort community, the Assistant Front Office Manager position at Vail Resorts is a remarkable opportunity to advance your career and create lifelong memories.
