The Food and Beverage Outlet Supervisor role at PENN Entertainment offers a compelling opportunity to be a part of this dynamic environment. This full-time position involves supervising a designated Food & Beverage (F&B) outlet and managing the daily functions within a specified shift. The supervisor is responsible for supporting operational goals, monitoring performance and profit objectives, and ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction. Key responsibilities include managing employee schedules, assisting in budgeting processes, ensuring regulatory compliance particularly with gaming laws, and maintaining cost control measures such as inventory management. The supervisor plays a critical role in promoting and demonstrating excellent customer service, adhering to company standards, and addressing any service-related issues promptly.

In addition to operational oversight, the role encompasses administrative duties, staff development, training, and engagement initiatives to maximize employee performance and satisfaction. The supervisor works closely with the F&B Outlet Assistant Manager to maintain efficient and sanitary service, support menu quality, and enforce compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements. The position demands confidentiality, tactful problem resolution, and effective communication with guests, colleagues, and management. Candidates must also successfully complete ServSafe Alcohol training certification, possess proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Associates degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum two years of food and beverage experience
  • Minimum two years previous supervisory experience
  • Ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems diplomatically
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Strong math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios, and percent
  • Flexibility to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions
  • Successful completion of ServSafe Alcohol training certification course

Job Duties

  • Supervise an F&B outlet and manage daily shift operations
  • Support and manage operational goals and monitor performance and profit objectives
  • Coordinate scheduling and address scheduling concerns with management
  • Assist in budget preparation and ensure departmental compliance with budget initiatives
  • Promote and demonstrate superior customer service and ensure team adherence to service standards
  • Enforce gaming laws and regulations relevant to the Food & Beverage Department
  • Maintain and develop food service procedures and inspect menu items for customer satisfaction
  • Assist in managing sanitary and pleasant service conditions
  • Monitor consistent inventory and implement cost control measures
  • Support administrative duties and regulatory compliance within the area of responsibility
  • Maintain confidentiality in all departmental matters
  • Develop and conduct staff training and rewards programs
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on employee performance
  • Recommend staffing needs including interviewing, hiring, and scheduling
  • Manage work procedures to optimize workflow
  • Provide recommendations for employee performance management including coaching and counseling
