Job Description

Hyatt is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences and a caring workplace environment. As a premier hotel and resort chain, Hyatt offers luxurious accommodations, world-class service, and a culture that values empathy, inclusion, and professional growth. The company’s ethos centers on caring for its people so that they can deliver their best to every guest, making Hyatt a highly sought-after employer in the hospitality sector. Hyatt supports its colleagues by fostering an inclusive environment that prioritizes well-being and offers abundant opportunities for personal and professional development, reflecting its commitment to not just customer satisfaction but also employee success and happiness.

The role of the Assistant Food & Beverage Operations Manager at Hyatt is a dynamic and pivotal management position focusing on supporting a property's diverse food and beverage operations. This includes overseeing restaurants, lounges, pool and market dining venues, digital dining services, banquet and conference services – collectively responsible for creating memorable guest experiences while optimizing operational efficiency and financial performance. This assistant management role involves both strategic vision and hands-on operational execution, requiring someone who can lead teams, manage financials, and ensure flawless service delivery.

Hyatt offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $75,000 per year for this position, along with comprehensive health benefits like medical, dental, and vision coverage starting just 30 days after employment. Additional perks include free and discounted room nights, special friends and family rates at Hyatt properties, discounts on food, beverage, and wellness and technology apps. The company also prioritizes work-life balance with paid time off, including new child leave, and retirement benefits such as a 401(k) matching program and an employee stock purchase plan. Furthermore, Hyatt supports career advancement through tuition reimbursement and extensive training programs, while everyday conveniences like complimentary employee meals make for a supportive work environment.

In this role, the Assistant Food & Beverage Operations Manager is tasked with managing the banquet department alongside other hotel divisions, ensuring all food and beverage functions are executed to Hyatt's high standards. Leadership responsibilities include supervising, motivating, and coaching banquet staff to deliver exceptional guest service and maintain associate engagement. This individual ensures operational excellence by coordinating with culinary, stewarding, catering, and beverage teams, managing staffing and equipment needs, and maintaining compliance with health regulations and corporate standards.

Financial acumen is critical, as the position involves analyzing point-of-sale and operational data to implement revenue growth and profitability strategies, oversee pricing and purchasing, manage labor costs, and assist in budget forecasting. The assistant manager also fosters strong guest and client relations by serving as a primary point of contact for high-profile clients, responding to guest feedback, and ensuring all event spaces and venues operate flawlessly.

Safety and compliance are rigorously maintained, including enforcing health, safety, and sanitation protocols, and ensuring all staff are trained in emergency procedures and legal requirements like TIPS certification for alcohol service.

This position is ideal for an experienced food and beverage management professional with at least two years in a similar role, preferably within an upscale environment, possessing strong organizational skills, leadership ability, and flexibility. Hyatt's culture of care extends to its management team, making this role an excellent opportunity for those seeking growth, challenge, and the chance to contribute to a globally respected brand known for redefining hospitality through compassion and innovation.
