Hyatt’s commitment to hospitality reflects its vision of making travel more human through genuine care and dedication to guests and colleagues alike.
Grand Hyatt San Francisco, part of the Hyatt Hotels Corporation, is currently seeking a hands-on and service-focused Assistant Food & Beverage Operations Manager to play a critical role in maintaining the excellence of the hotel’s food and beverage division. This salaried role offers compensation ranging from $73,600 to $92,000, supporting a variety of food and beverage operations including restaurants, bars, lounges, banquets, and special events. The position demands an individual who is not only passionate about food and beverage service but who also understands the complexities and dynamic flow of hotel operations.
The Assistant Food & Beverage Operations Manager will support the leadership team with day-to-day operational management and ensure exceptional service, operational efficiency, and colleague engagement across multiple outlets. This role involves a visible, proactive floor presence and requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and inspire colleagues during both routine service hours and high-volume events. The successful candidate will be adept at monitoring service flow, guest satisfaction, staff performance, product quality, and overall presentation of food and beverage outlets.
Responsibilities include preparing staff for service through pre-shift meetings, coaching and training colleagues to uphold Hyatt’s high service standards, assisting with scheduling and labor management, and overseeing opening and closing procedures and shift accountability. The Assistant Manager also collaborates with various hotel departments including culinary, stewarding, events, sales, front office, housekeeping, engineering, and security to ensure seamless operations.
This role requires responsiveness to guest concerns and service opportunities, management of supply levels and inventories, and strict adherence to health and safety regulations. Additionally, the Assistant Food & Beverage Operations Manager will play a key part in executing banquets and events, supporting restaurant and bar operations with a focus on responsible alcohol service and product knowledge.
Grand Hyatt San Francisco also emphasizes creating a positive, inclusive, respectful, and accountable team environment. The role supports various special events, VIP experiences, holiday programs, and hotel initiatives, occasionally acting as the food and beverage leader on duty as assigned. This career opportunity offers a chance to grow with a premier hotel brand known for delivering superior services and elevated guest experiences.
At Hyatt, hospitality is more than a job — it is a career for those who care deeply about making every guest experience exceptional and for those looking to develop professionally in a welcoming and supportive environment.
