At the heart of this mission is the role of the Food and Beverage/Culinary Manager, a management position based at one of the Autograph Collection’s prestigious hotel locations in San Juan Capistrano, California. This full-time position offers competitive pay ranging from $28.35 to $30.29 per hour along with eligibility for bonuses, underscoring Marriott's commitment to rewarding performance and leadership.

In this role, the Food and Beverage/Culinary Manager assists in supervising the daily operations of food and beverage services while maintaining a sharp focus on guest and employee satisfaction. The manager is responsible for ensuring that all operations adhere strictly to company standards, legal requirements, and budgetary constraints. Embodying the brand’s values, the manager supports and leads a team in executing day-to-day activities such as ordering supplies, supervising shifts, managing staffing levels, and maintaining cleanliness and equipment. Candidates suitable for this role will have at least three years of experience in the food and beverage or culinary sectors or an equivalent combination of education and experience, such as a degree in Food Service Management or Hospitality paired with relevant practical exposure. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or ged
  • three years experience in food and beverage, culinary or related professional area
  • or two-year degree from an accredited university in food service management, hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration or related major
  • one year experience in food and beverage, culinary or related professional area
  • ability to operate food and beverage equipment
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to manage budgets and payroll reports
  • willingness to handle hourly job functions when necessary

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • assists in the ordering of food and beverage supplies, cleaning supplies and uniforms
  • supervises daily food and beverage shift operation and ensures compliance with all policies, standards and procedures
  • supports and supervises an effective monthly self inspection program
  • operates all department equipment as necessary and reports malfunction
  • supervises staffing levels to ensure guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met
  • encourages and builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members
  • develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish work
