Job Description

Bobby Jones Links, established in 2000 and headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is a distinguished club management and development company dedicated to serving private, resort, daily fee, and public golf courses. With a profound commitment to people-centric service and creating outstanding experiences, Bobby Jones Links thrives on its core values: Make People Happy, Do What You Say, Strive for Excellence, Be Driven, and Grow Every Day. These guiding principles foster a culture of integrity, passion, and continuous improvement that fuels their success across various hospitality and recreation venues. The company's ethos is inspired by Bobby Jones' famous saying, "The secret of golf is to turn three shots into two," reflecting a relentless pursuit of excellence and efficiency in all aspects of their operations.

One of the premier clubs managed by Bobby Jones Links is Hope Valley Country Club, located in Durham, North Carolina. Established in 1926, Hope Valley is an elite private club known for its classic Donald Ross-designed golf course, state-of-the-art tennis facilities, a resort-style pool complex, and a spacious clubhouse that offers first-class recreation, dining, and programming for its members. Situated conveniently in a vibrant and dynamic area of the Southeast, Hope Valley Country Club is committed to delivering exceptional membership experiences through its diverse offerings and impeccable service standards.

The club is currently seeking an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager to join their team, a pivotal role responsible for supporting the daily food and beverage operations and ensuring exceptional dining experiences for members and guests. This position is integral to maintaining the club’s high service standards and involves leadership responsibilities across various service outlets, banquet operations, and special events. The ideal candidate will be an energetic leader, capable of supervising front-of-house teams, coordinating seamlessly with culinary staff, and contributing to the planning and execution of various club functions and tournaments.

As the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, the individual will be entrusted with overseeing team performance, supporting recruitment efforts, training new employees, managing schedules, and ensuring that all service areas meet the club’s standards of cleanliness, presentation, and operational excellence. This role requires a dynamic presence on the floor, actively engaging with club members and guests to resolve any concerns promptly and to enhance overall satisfaction. Additionally, the role involves responsibilities in inventory management, ordering, cost control, and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, reinforcing the club’s commitment to quality and compliance.

This position demands someone who has proven experience in food and beverage service environments, preferably within clubs, upscale restaurants, or hospitality settings. Strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment are essential. The role also requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical stamina is important as the role involves standing and walking for extended periods and occasionally lifting items weighing between 30-40 pounds.

In summary, the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager at Hope Valley Country Club will play a crucial role in upholding the club's reputation for excellence in service and hospitality, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the prestigious nature of both the club and Bobby Jones Links' overall brand.
