Job Description
Amangiri is a distinguished luxury resort located in an untouched red-rock country on over 900 acres of the Colorado Plateau, offering an extraordinary blend of modernist architecture and natural beauty. As part of the Aman Group, Amangiri includes 34 modernist suites, an Aman Spa, and a stunning mesa-embracing pool designed to echo the tranquility of the surrounding canyons. Alongside Amangiri is Camp Sarika, a complementary satellite camp with 10 tented pavilions. Camp Sarika is known for its adventurous spirit, featuring its own restaurant, lounge, and spa suites, making it an unrivaled base for exhilarating expeditions and fireside connections. Together, the resort and camp provide a unique dual aspect of the ancient desert landscape providing both serenity and adventure for guests seeking a high-end getaway experience.
The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager role at Amangiri is a hands-on leadership position that plays a critical role in ensuring smooth daily operations across all food and beverage outlets within the resort. This position supports the Director of Food & Beverage in delivering exceptional guest service by maintaining operational excellence, fostering team engagement, and ensuring strict adherence to Aman’s high standards. The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing everything from restaurant service and in-suite dining to poolside and spa dining, guaranteeing that each dining experience is consistent, efficient, and of the highest quality. The role involves coordinating between service and culinary teams to assure timely and accurate order delivery while addressing guest inquiries and special requests with professionalism and care.
This leadership role also emphasizes training, mentoring, and supervising food and beverage team members to maintain policies and service expectations. The Assistant Manager conducts performance evaluations, aids in scheduling and payroll operations, and helps cultivate a positive and collaborative work environment. Quality and compliance are key focal areas, requiring attention to Department of Health regulations, inventory management to minimize waste, and continuous improvements in guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. Additionally, administrative tasks such as ordering, procurement, and vendor coordination fall under this role’s purview. The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager must also ensure adherence to Aman’s grooming, appearance, and conduct standards.
Ideal candidates will have significant experience in luxury food and beverage management settings, possess strong operational knowledge, and be proficient with industry-standard systems such as Micros, SevenRooms, and Opera. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build rapport across departments are essential. The role demands strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, composure under pressure, and a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. Certifications such as TIPS and ServSafe are required or must be obtained upon hire. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 45 lbs and comfort working both indoors and outdoors. Sensitivity to cultural nuances and a commitment to Aman’s philosophy of genuine, intuitive service are vital, with multi-lingual abilities considered an asset. This role offers exciting developmental opportunities within a world-renowned luxury hospitality group dedicated to career growth and employee well-being.
