The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager plays a critical role within the Food and Beverage Department. Reporting directly to the Food and Beverage Manager, this exempt position involves assisting in the coordination and execution of banquet and catering events as well as restaurant operations. The Assistant Manager helps to ensure all meeting spaces and service setups comply with banquet event orders and maintain the highest levels of service, quality, and hospitality. The role requires close collaboration with the sales team to guarantee client satisfaction with event arrangements, food and beverage service, audiovisual functions, and overall food quality.

Key responsibilities include overseeing the prompt, efficient, and courteous serving of food and beverage during banquets and restaurant operations, adhering strictly to required food safety and sanitation procedures, and maintaining necessary food handling certifications. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager also addresses guest questions and concerns promptly and courteously, working to resolve any issues that arise.

Physically, this position can be demanding, requiring the ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, lift, and squat for extended periods. The pay scale for this role ranges from $18.63 to $36.03 per hour, depending on the specific state and market. This role demands strong organizational and leadership abilities, a customer-focused mindset with the ability to anticipate guest needs, and the skill to execute food and beverage events while strategically managing staff to ensure smooth and successful operations.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Assist the setup of meeting spaces for banquet and catering events to ensure compliance with banquet event orders with optimal level of service, quality and hospitality
  • Assist in the prompt, efficient, and friendly serving of all food and beverage for banquets and restaurant
  • Work closely with the Sales Team to ensure clients are happy with all aspects of their events including room set up, F&B service, A/V functions and food quality
  • Follow required sanitation procedures for food handling safety
  • Obtain and maintain any food handling certificates that may apply
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to any guest questions or concerns
  • Work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager for the efficient running of the Food and Beverage operation
