Joining the Grand Hyatt Washington means becoming part of an extraordinary hospitality experience, where every detail is thoughtfully executed to provide exemplary service and comfort to guests. The hotel hosts a variety of dining options, including its latest upscale MediterrAsian restaurant, Oribu, which brings a unique blend of Mediterranean and Asian flavors to the local culinary scene. The food and beverage (F&B) team plays a crucial role in maintaining the top-tier standards expected at this luxury property.
The role of Assistant Food and Beverage Manager is a pivotal leadership position within the F&B department. This role is designed for a motivated and experienced individual who will collaborate closely with other F&B leaders to oversee the daily operations of multiple outlets, including the hotel’s restaurants, in-room dining services, and the exclusive Grand Club lounge. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for ensuring that the quality of service remains consistently high while managing the operational aspects such as scheduling, forecasting, and staff training.
In this capacity, the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager must be a proactive and caring leader, capable of handling the fast-paced environment of a large luxury hotel. They must possess strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and departments, as well as solid analytical abilities to manage food and beverage cost controls and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local standards.
This position also offers potential involvement in coordinating special events, adding an exciting dimension to the managerial responsibilities. The ability to lead a bustling restaurant operation akin to a standalone establishment is essential, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of managerial duties in a high-volume, upscale hospitality setting.
The salary range for this role is competitive, from $66,100 to $73,500 annually, and will be commensurate with the candidate's experience. Candidates joining the Grand Hyatt Washington can expect to benefit from an extensive range of perks and benefits, such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement opportunities, paid vacation and sick leave, adoption assistance, and numerous other employee-friendly programs designed to support both work and personal life.
