Positioned in one of the city’s most vibrant and iconic districts, The Peninsula Chicago is actively seeking a motivated and guest-focused Assistant Food & Beverage Outlet Manager to join its talented team of food and beverage professionals. The Assistant Food & Beverage Outlet Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the food and beverage outlet, delivering outstanding service standards to guests while effectively managing staff and resources. Key responsibilities include overseeing all outlet activities such as staff scheduling, job delegation, service supervision, reservation management, and table assignment coordination. The candidate will maintain a visible managerial presence on the floor to uphold service quality and guest satisfaction.
In addition to operational oversight, this role requires mentoring, motivating, and training team members to uphold the hotel’s distinguished service standards. The Assistant Manager will assist the department manager in employee supervision and discipline, contributing to a positive workplace culture that encourages professionalism and teamwork. The role also involves implementing POS and HOTSos systems according to hotel policies to ensure efficient workflow and revenue maximization.
This position is not only operational but also strategic, requiring a deep understanding of various cuisines, wine knowledge, and pairing expertise. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills developed through at least two years of experience in a leadership role within a three-meal period setting in a Five-Star hotel restaurant. A professional qualification in hospitality, business, marketing, or a related field coupled with fluent English communication is essential. Additional language skills will be regarded as a significant advantage.

Job Duties
- Responsible for all activities of outlet, including staff scheduling, delegation of tasks, monitoring and supervision of service, managing reservations and table assignments, ensuring managerial floor presence
- Train, mentor, motivate, supervise, and assist department manager in disciplining employees
- Initiate and maintain friendly, discreet, and unobtrusive guest service in greeting, seating, and waiting on guests
- Take and control reservations and seating arrangements to maximize revenue and uphold service standards
- Utilize POS and HOTSos systems in accordance with policies and procedures
- Adapt and perform additional tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor to meet evolving operational needs
- Ensure compliance with hotel standards and contribute positively to guest satisfaction and outlet profitability
