Job Requirements

  • Diploma or some college education or equivalent
  • minimum three years of experience as a restaurant assistant manager
  • valid California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certificate preferred
  • valid California Food Handler Card preferred
  • hotel operational experience preferred
  • ability to manage and lead a food and beverage team
  • knowledge of state liquor laws
  • strong organizational and leadership skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including long shifts
  • physical ability to perform demanding tasks
  • proficiency in English
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional service and ensure guest satisfaction with dining experiences
  • assist in management of a team of food and beverage professionals ensuring brand standards and service sequence are executed
  • maintain knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards
  • assist in interview, hiring, training, performance management and termination of food and beverage associates
  • schedule associates and prepare payroll documents
  • ensure daily maintenance of superior standards
  • enforce state liquor regulations
  • oversee storage area organization and cleanliness
  • establish par levels and complete supply requisitions
  • coordinate with chefs on menu specials and staffing
  • review sales and track revenue against budget
  • prepare and adjust work schedules
  • monitor staff attendance and breaks
  • assign and communicate work duties
  • conduct pre-shift meetings
  • inspect staff grooming and attire
  • ensure readiness of materials and equipment
  • monitor staff performance and service quality
  • inspect table setups and outlet environment cleanliness
  • manage host stand and reservations
  • ensure availability of menus and wine lists
  • monitor pick-up and side stations
  • greet and seat guests
  • anticipate busy periods and manage waiting lines
  • promote positive guest relations
  • stay informed on hotel services and local attractions
  • handle guest complaints
  • monitor order status and table resets
  • maintain cleanliness and condition of equipment and work areas
  • assist restaurant staff
  • answer outlet phones promptly
  • operate POS system and manage cashiering procedures
  • run system-closing reports
  • conduct training programs
