Job Description
The hiring establishment is a distinguished food and beverage company operating within a dynamic hospitality environment, specifically focused on front-of-house food and beverage operations. With an emphasis on delivering exceptional guest experiences, the establishment prides itself on high-quality service standards and operational excellence. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and attention to detail, this company serves a diverse clientele and operates with a commitment to innovation, employee development, and sustained customer satisfaction. This role is positioned within a restaurant or similar food service setting, responsible for managing non-catered front-of-house operations ensuring seamless service delivery throughout each shift.
The Assistant Food and Beverage (F&B) Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting daily service operations by overseeing and coordinating the on-shift activities of front-of-house staff. This includes tracking team member arrivals, managing section and side duty assignments, and maintaining reservation systems. The position involves conducting pre-shift staff meetings to align objectives and ensure the team is prepared to deliver outstanding service. In this role, the Assistant F&B Manager works closely with the F&B Manager and Department Director to maintain smooth operational flow, address staffing or facility issues, and engage directly with VIP guests for special requests, creating personalized service and fostering strong relationships.
Additional responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training front-of-house personnel to build a knowledgeable and customer-focused team. The Assistant F&B Manager also supports the management of food and beverage costs, including labor and inventory controls, ensuring budgetary guidelines are met while maximizing operational efficiency. This position demands excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities under pressure and strong communication skills to collaborate across departments including kitchen staff and leadership teams. Expertise with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems is essential, as the role requires training staff on POS functionality to minimize errors and optimize order processing.
Ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards—including health codes, liquor licensing, and labor laws—is a fundamental part of the Assistant F&B Manager’s duties, as is maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment for both staff and guests. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery by identifying operational challenges and recommending practical solutions.
Candidates for this position should expect to work a flexible and sometimes irregular schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holidays in environments such as casino floors where exposure to smoke is common. The position requires a mix of hands-on leadership, administrative acumen, and excellent interpersonal skills to manage team dynamics and customer relations effectively. With the company’s commitment to high standards and guest satisfaction, this role is ideal for motivated professionals seeking growth in food and beverage management with a competitive salary reflective of industry norms and employment on a full-time basis.
