The role of Assistant Facilities Manager/Director is a key position within Balfour Beatty Communities, responsible for supporting the Facility Manager/Director in managing the daily operations of repair and maintenance functions at a residential installation. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the physical integrity and functionality of the community’s assets, ensuring resident satisfaction through timely and efficient service delivery. The Assistant Facilities Manager/Director oversees multiple facets of facility management, including personnel supervision, financial reporting, training and development, and customer service.

This role requires a hands-on leader capable of assisting in building and developing a motivated, skilled, and productive team of maintenance personnel. The Assistant Facilities Manager/Director is also responsible for conducting regular physical inspections to ensure properties are properly maintained and all assets are well-managed. Additionally, the position involves forecasting maintenance and financial needs, instituting effective time management programs, and ensuring project completion goals are met to the satisfaction of residents and stakeholders alike. The Assistant Facilities Manager/Director is also expected to participate in community-related events such as those organized by LifeWorks, demonstrating a commitment to the well-being and engagement of the community.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • associate degree preferred
  • universal H.V.A.C. certification preferred
  • minimum five years supervisory experience in facilities management or equivalent
  • excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • proficiency in Yardi preferred
  • ability to multitask and manage projects
  • working knowledge of building codes and OSHA standards preferred
  • valid state-issued driver’s license and safe driving record

Job Qualifications
