The role of Assistant Executive Steward at Resorts World Las Vegas is vital in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and organization within all resort kitchens. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the sanitation and maintenance of kitchen equipment, dining ware, and food preparation areas throughout the resort. The Assistant Executive Steward plays a key role in managing inventory control for china, glassware, and silverware, ensuring that all areas meet health and safety regulations. Additionally, this role involves training and supervising team members on proper cleaning techniques, the safe operation of equipment, and handling cleaning chemicals in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
This position requires collaboration with the Executive Steward to help achieve departmental budget goals, control labor and costs effectively, and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures. The Assistant Executive Steward also ensures adherence to the resort's guidelines and promotes a positive, cooperative work climate to maximize productivity and morale among team members. Candidates for this role should expect varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry.

Physical demands include tolerance to varying noise levels, temperatures, and air quality, as well as physical activities such as prolonged standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and other manual tasks required for effective kitchen management. Job Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least five years of experience within Stewarding or a directly related operational area/field
- At least three years of directly related operational management experience at a similar leadership level
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to obtain ServSafe Manager Food Handler Card
Job Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of chemical and temperature safety standards, as well as MSDS
- Ability to effectively communicate in English
- Polished appearance and demeanor
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to obtain & maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to successfully mentor a team
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business management or a related field
- Working knowledge of applicable systems such as Kronos and HotSOS
- Knowledge of OS&E and storage requirements
- Knowledge of banquet preparations and operations
- Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting
Job Duties
- Manage all back of house facility kitchens and ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of facility, cleaning equipment, and dining ware is consistently achieved
- Manage inventory control for all china, glass and silverware
- Manage and train team members on proper cleaning methods, operation of equipment, and the cleaning chemicals used based on Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Monitor and control the distribution of cleaning chemicals to outlets
- Conduct pre-shift meetings with team members
- Ensure that team members are maintaining an organized, clean, sanitized, and safe working environment in all work areas
- Assist the Executive Steward with achieving the department budget goals and maintaining overall labor and department costs
- Assist the Executive Steward with the creation of standard operating procedures and developing training, counseling and disciplining strategies for line level staff that stay within company standards and guidelines
- Ensure team members adhere to Resorts World Company guidelines as stated in team member training manual and handbook
- Promote a cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and morale
- Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing
- Ensure that team members obtain and maintain position-specific licensing
- Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
