Job Description
Cooper's Hawk is a distinctive winery and restaurant brand that captures the essence of the Napa Valley lifestyle and culinary excellence. Founded in 2005, Cooper's Hawk has established itself as a premier destination offering a unique combination of a Napa-style tasting room, retail wine shop, full-service restaurant, bar, and private event spaces. The company has cultivated one of the largest wine clubs in the world, providing members with exclusive benefits such as award-winning wines, curated dining experiences, and travel opportunities. Cooper's Hawk is recognized for its dedication to delivering an immersive and sophisticated winery experience complemented by a modern yet casual dining atmosphere.
The organization's scratch kitchen philosophy ensures that every menu item is freshly prepared to perfectly pair with their exceptional wines. In addition to the flagship Cooper's Hawk brand, the company continues to innovate with concepts like Piccolo Buco by Cooper's Hawk, which introduces vibrant Roman flavors to its loyal guests. The company prides itself on creating a lifestyle brand that goes beyond just food and wine, emphasizing community, quality, and memorable guest experiences.
As an Assistant Executive Kitchen Manager at Cooper's Hawk, you will play a vital role in leading a high-volume kitchen where culinary creativity and operational excellence intersect. Partnering closely with the Executive Kitchen Manager, your responsibility will be to ensure that food quality, consistency, and safety standards are maintained at the highest level. Your leadership will involve coaching and inspiring kitchen team members across various sections such as dish, prep, and line stations. In this role, your ability to manage kitchen operations, maintain hygiene standards, oversee inventory and ordering, and execute new menu roll-outs will be essential for success.
You will also be instrumental in fostering a respectful and positive kitchen culture, upholding the company’s core values and promoting professional growth among team members. Coordinating closely with front-of-house staff, you will ensure seamless communication and smooth daily restaurant operations while supporting private events and monthly Wine Club dinners. The role demands strong organizational skills, financial acumen, and the ability to lead by example, inspiring pride and excellence within the culinary team.
This position requires flexibility in work hours, including weekends and some holidays, with a commitment to standing for extended shifts and occasional heavy lifting. Cooper's Hawk provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, employee discounts, wellness support, paid time off and parental leave. As an equal opportunity employer, Cooper's Hawk values diversity and inclusion in its workforce and offers reasonable accommodations throughout the employment process.
Joining Cooper's Hawk as Assistant Executive Kitchen Manager is an opportunity to contribute to a thriving, rapidly growing company that blends a passion for wine, food, and hospitality to create exceptional guest experiences. You will help to elevate the culinary standards while nurturing the talents of your team and supporting the continuous success of this exciting lifestyle brand.
