Located at 2621 NE 46th Street, Seattle, WA, inside University Village, Din Tai Fung is recruiting an Assistant Executive Kitchen Manager to play a pivotal role in back-of-house operations. This salaried position offers an annual base salary ranging from $103,800 to $129,800, complemented by eligibility for an annual incentive plan based on both individual and company performance. The total compensation package reflects the candidate’s experience, expertise, and the current market dynamics.

The Assistant Executive Kitchen Manager acts as the right hand to the Executive Kitchen Manager (EKM), sharing responsibilities to ensure seamless kitchen operations. This critical leadership role involves partnering closely with the EKM to maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and food safety in every dish served. The incumbent will focus on developing and coaching the kitchen team, reinforcing brand standards, and driving strong execution on every shift to maximize operational efficiency and culinary excellence. Key operational duties include oversight of scheduling, hiring, performance coaching, inventory management, and compliance with health and safety protocols.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Validate scheduling for EKM review
  • submit people transactions such as promotions and demotions
  • participate in investigations with HR
  • coach and document performance and corrective actions
  • develop managers
  • conduct interviews
  • make final hiring decisions for non-exempt BOH staff
  • assist with managerial hiring
  • work with managers on Zenput task lists
  • ensure operational needs including accurate ordering and inventory management
  • teach and coach to maintain brand standards
  • update team on new rollouts and promotions
  • collaborate on staffing and planning for BOH
  • implement COG and KPI action plans
  • train and coach on food safety
  • maintain health department compliance
  • implement and follow up on Ecosure Action Plan
  • prepare and review manager meeting decks
  • follow up on facilities needs
  • ensure food safety and quality standards
  • ensure team certification and training on key stations
