Job Description

Virgin Hotels is a dynamic and innovative hospitality company known for redefining the hotel experience with a focus on exceptional service, unique design, and vibrant social environments. As a part of the Virgin Group, Virgin Hotels blends the core values of fun, innovation, originality, and personable service to create memorable guest experiences in all its properties. The company is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace, celebrating the value each team member brings to its mission of outstanding hospitality. With a portfolio that prioritizes luxury, comfort, and creativity, Virgin Hotels focuses heavily on delivering brilliant customer service and maintaining high operational standards across all departments, including housekeeping.

The Assistant Executive Housekeeper plays a crucial role within this framework by supporting the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department. This full-time position involves responsibility for personnel management, inventory control, equipment upkeep, supply management, and quality assurance throughout the property. The successful candidate will ensure that all floors, including guest areas, VIP rooms, back-of-house storage, and specialty cleaning tasks, meet Virgin Hotels' stringent housekeeping standards. They will collaborate closely with the Executive Housekeeper and Director of Housekeeping to verify service quality and conformance with cleaning protocols established by key vendors such as ECO Lab, AMMCO, Brady Linen, and others involved in deep cleaning and maintenance services.

Beyond maintaining cleanliness, the Assistant Executive Housekeeper is also responsible for staff development through hiring, training, and evaluating housekeeping personnel. This role demands exceptional leadership, including the ability to create and monitor staffing schedules, implement training programs related to cleaning techniques and safety standards, and manage administrative functions such as PTO and FMLA. Acting as a problem solver and an excellent communicator, the Assistant Executive Housekeeper will routinely inspect facilities, address guest concerns with professionalism, and ensure the department operates efficiently within budget and procedural guidelines. They will also manage inventory counts and asset protection to support ordering processes, making judgments on new equipment investments aligned with operational goals.

The position requires a balance of logical and creative thinking, with an emphasis on innovation and fresh approaches to traditionally routine tasks. This role is also physically demanding, requiring mobility, coordination, and the ability to maneuver significant weights safely. Virgin Hotels seeks a candidate who embodies its core values and who can inspire and motivate team members while maintaining high standards of customer service and workplace collaboration. Overall, this role is designed for an energetic, passionate individual with strong organizational skills and a commitment to enhancing the overall guest experience by leading a top-tier housekeeping operation.
