This job posting is for a full-time Senior Sous Chef, Senior Kitchen Manager, or Chef De Cuisine position at P.F. Chang's. Classified as a non-exempt role, the position offers a pay range based on experience from $72,501.00 to $92,492.40 per year, equating to an hourly wage between $25.35 and $32.34 based on an assumption of 50 hours worked weekly. This leadership role is integral to maintaining the high standards of kitchen operations, food quality, and guest experience that define P.F. Chang’s brand. The Senior Sous Chef reports directly to the Executive Chef and is responsible for managing the culinary team while ensuring smooth daily restaurant operations. The position requires a blend of hands-on kitchen expertise, leadership ability, and strong organizational skills.
The Senior Sous Chef or Chef De Cuisine leads a busy, scratch kitchen culinary team, overseeing the preparation and execution of menu items, recipes, and procedures. The role demands ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction by delivering memorable culinary experiences. Key responsibilities include mentoring team members, fostering a positive and fun working environment, and performing tasks from scheduling and hiring to quality control through regular line checks. The leader must balance operational needs with cost control measures, contribute to sales growth, and strictly adhere to safety and sanitation regulations.
This position requires an energetic individual capable of working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Physical stamina is essential given the requirement to stand and walk for eight to ten hours per shift and the ability to lift and transport objects up to 50 pounds. Skillful use of kitchen equipment such as woks, mixers, slicers, and knives is required. Candidates must have at least three years of relevant culinary or leadership experience and possess a valid driver’s license for occasional duties including catering delivery and travel between locations.

Job Requirements
- 3+ years of prior culinary or restaurant leadership experience
- Experience working in a hands-on, fast paced, high volume environment
- Must possess a valid driver’s license to perform occasional duties such as providing shift coverage, meeting liquor license requirements (depending on the state), delivering large catering orders (which may include operating a rental truck), making supply runs, local restaurant marketing, attending offsite training and business meetings, and traveling between restaurant locations to support operations
- Experience mentoring and training hourly team members
- Exposure to managing inventory, cost of goods and overall control of financials
- Must be able to stand and walk for periods of eight to ten hours in length each shift
- Must be able to reach, bend, balance and transport various objects weighing up to 30 lbs. repeatedly during a shift. At times it might be necessary to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to operate kitchen equipment including a wok, mixer, slicer, and buffalo chopper, as well as have the ability to use knives appropriately and maintain their integrity
- Must be able to work around various levels of temperature, including warm to very warm temperatures in the kitchen
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years culinary or restaurant leadership experience
- Experience working in a fast paced, high volume kitchen environment
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment including woks, mixers, slicers, and buffalo choppers
- Skilled in knife handling and maintenance
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work in warm kitchen temperatures
- Experience with inventory and cost control
- Strong communication and team management skills
